Show PricslEiooii and Union Mooting ilolil Suiiiiny At the I'risthood and Union meeting meet-ing held Sunday Mr. Davis, secretary of the Church Board of Religion Class work, was present and talked to the general assembly on the necessity for religous training in week day schools. He explained the reason why a number num-ber of the Junior colleges of the church were being turned over to the state for high school and Junior college work. He attended the Religion class section sec-tion of the meeting for department work and gave Superintendent El-wood El-wood Baxter instructions in Religion class work. The High Priests enjoyed a testimony testi-mony meeting. The Lesser Priesthood enjoyed a talk from Superintendent David Gourley, Gour-ley, on the Kirkland Temple and other Mormon scenes in Ohio, Illinois and Missouri. The Relief Society section separated separat-ed for class work as follows: Theological section The lesson was given by Mrs. Stena Clayton, Mrs. Jennie Johnson and Mrs. Ella Cragun. Literary Section Lavina Fugal. Social service Estelle Fenton. Teachers section Mrs. Margaret Van Wagoner. A letter was read telling of General Relief Society conference at Salt Lake City Wednesday and Thursday, April 3 and 4. Wednesday morning at 10 a. m., General Board and stake officers meetings will be held Wednesday at 2 p. M., all ward1 officers and teachers will separate for class work. Thursday's Thurs-day's 10 a. m and 2 p. m. meetings will be held for the Relief Society members in the tabernacle. Mrs. Bernice Monson was sustained as the new Relief Society stake board member. mem-ber. In the Primary section, the subject handled throughout their department work was "cooperation." |
