Mr. and Mrs. LaVerl Stewart and family of Magna spent Monday here with Mr. Stewart's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pratt and Harold Har-old Pratt visited in Salt Lake Monday Mon-day night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Angel and 1n Murray with Mr. and Mrs. George Brown. Marshal Birk was In attendance Tuesday night at a meeting of the -slu'riff and marshals of the county held in Provo to make plans for the ' forthcoming Utah State Peace Offi cers convention to be held in Provo June 22 and 23. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kirk and children child-ren have returned home to Mohr-land. Mohr-land. Mr. Kirk for three weeks was confined to the St. Marks hospital hos-pital following a serious operation for appendicitis. Mrs. Kirk and children visited back and forth from Salt Lake with relatives here. Marshal and Mrs., Albert Birk were in Salt Lake Thursday of last week in attendance at the Anti-Crime Anti-Crime convention. The peace officers offi-cers met in the morning and afternoon after-noon during which time the ladies auxiliary members were taken on a trip through the state penitentiary, then through the state capitol and later to the Hot Springs. The Relief Society room of the First ward chapel is undergoing a thorough spring housecleaning, and is being redecoratrd. The room has been newly papered and the woodwork wood-work painted a warm ivory color. The ladies are re-varnishing the chairs and have cleaned the rag so the room now presents a very homey i and attractive appearance. ' Mrs. Martha Chipman has returned re-turned from a two weeks stay in Salt Lake with her daughter, Mrs. Fern Bodell and family. Mr. and Mrs. Garn Carter and children, who have spent the past six months in Los Angeles, have returned. They are visiting here this week with Mrs. Mary J. Cunningham, Cun-ningham, mother of Mrs. Carter. John Clarke returned to Vemal Sunday after spending several days here with his wife and family. Mr. Clarke is a member of the Vernal high school faculty and accompanied accompan-ied the members of his debating1 team to the B. Y. U. last week. About thirty American Fork sportsmen attend the Sportsmen's riot sponsored by the Salt Lake club held at the fair grounds last Saturday Sat-urday night in Salt Lake. The local participants report a jolly good time. Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte and Mrs. J. P. Aydelotte have returned re-turned from a two weeks trip to the coast. While there they visited with relatives in and around Los Angeles. Mr. J. P. Aydelotte remained re-mained for an indefinite visit. Mrs. Reginald Gustaveson (LaVern Aydelotte) Ay-delotte) and children accompanied them back to American Fork and is spending the week here. E. G. Shoell of Lindon, father of Lenard Shoell of this city is at his son's home recuperating from the effects of an accident suffered Sunday Sun-day night. Mr. Shoell was alighting alight-ing from an Orem car at Lindon when he was struck by an automobile. automo-bile. He sustained two deep lacerations lacer-ations on the forehead and one deep) laceration on the scalp and a possible possi-ble dislocated left shoulder. The driver of the car, Keith Severn of. of Salt Lake, immediately brought the injured man to this city where h? was given attention by Dr. G. S. Richards and removed to his son's home. The accident occured about 9 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. C. Leo Jessen and family of Kingston, spent last week visiting in American Fork and Salt Lake. Mrs. Jessen is the daughter of John Jacklin of this city. Mrs. G. M. Graham of Wallsburg, formerly Miss June Crystal of this city, visited the past week in this city with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Crystal, and in Pleasant Grove with her sister, Mrs. Lynn Weeks. Halliday and Miss Mildred1 Chipman attended a recital given by Margaret Summer-hays Summer-hays of the Brigham Young University Univer-sity presenting her double mixed quartet. Miss Naomi Halliday, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Halliday, is a member of the group. The recital re-cital was held Monday night in College Hall, Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Berg entertained entertain-ed at an Easter party at their ranch near Kamas. Their guests for the day were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Householder, House-holder, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Haun, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wilcox of Bingham; Mr. and Mrs. Reed Robinson and children; Mr. and Mrs. James Var-ney, Var-ney, Mr. and Mrs... Charles Kelly, Aaron Chipman and Ray Shelley of American Fork. Mrs. Leroy Okey and Mrs. Donald Barratt and their Bee Hive class of the First ward entertained the girls' mothers and the Y. L. M. I. A. presidency, last Friday night at the Okey home. A jolly time was had in playing various games after which a delicious lunch was served at small tables. Easter motifs were used in the lunch and decorations. There were twenty present. Complimentary to the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Christensen which occured Tuesday, Mr. Christ-ensen's Christ-ensen's daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Brown entertained Wednesday night. A hot supper was Eerved at 8 o'clock and the tables was centered cen-tered by a handsomely decorated wedding cake. After the supper the guests played "Hearts", the prize being won by Mr. Phillips of Lent Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Hagg, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Makin, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Draper, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grant, Mrs. Mate Earl, Mrs. Myrtle Goode, and Julius Christensen of this city; Mrs. Ellis Mrs. Vaughn, Mrs. Margaret Ma-has, Ma-has, Mr. and Mrs. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Littleford, iMr. Phillips and Mr. Loveridge of Lehi. Mrs. Harold Chipman entertained Monday night at her home hi' honor of her mother, Mrs. W. D. Stew- j art's birthday. Games and other social diversions were enjoyed and a delicious supper was served at small tables. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. George Webb, Mr. end i Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Jams E. Misa Reona Stewart and Barbara Pett assisted Mrs. Chipman in serving. LaVelle Singleton is home for a visit following a two months stay at the sheep herd. The G. A. Club met Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. E. P. , Evans. The new officers recently elected were in charge. A business - discussion of the year's plan of work occupied the time, after which the hostess served a delicious lunch.
