Show Jr. Jazz games baffle fans Last Saturday's boy's 7 and 8 grade boy's Jr. Jazz basketball held some surprises for the coaches and players this past week. Some of the tougher teams were held by some excellent defense, and although they lost the game, they were really proud of the way they held the other team down in their normally high- scoring games. In the early game of the day, the Knicks won out over the Lakers, 41-26. Justin Brackenbury was high scorer for the Knicks with 16 points, with Brandon Griffiths making 12 for the Lakers. Scott Giles, with 26 points, helped the Pacers to stomp the Bulls, 53-28. Quin Walker had 11 for the Bulls. The Celtics had no trouble running run-ning over the Suns, 42-25. Jared Kearns scored 14 for the Celtics, with Mike Howard and Clayton Patch each making 6. The Rockets struggled against a strong Spirit's offense, losing 26-38. 26-38. Joseph Boyle had 10 for the Spirits, and 10 for Tony Norrie. By half-time, with a score of 5-23 for the Cougars, the spectators figured fig-ured that the Bucks were out of any spot to be able to win. But the Bucks battled back in the second half with a final score of 37-34 for the Bucks. Leading scorer for the Bucks was Cody Walker with 12. Brett Clayson had 10 for the Cougars, Cou-gars, including several 3-pointers. In another close game, the Pis- ' tons barely squeaked by the 76'ers with a final score of 24-22. Leading scorer was Cameron Baker for the Pistons with 8 points. Cody Robinson Robin-son had 10 for the 76'ers.
