Liddle, San Jose, Calif., former residents of Pleasant Grove, returned from the London South Mission on Aug. 3. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, Aug. 27, at 9 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 18th Ward. He would enjoy seeing his friends from the area. He will be attending BYU this fall in pre-me- d studies. David Liddle Homecoming set Sunday for Robert P. Richards Elder Robert P. Richards, son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Richards, returned from the Christchurch, New Zealand LDS Mission on Aug. 18. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, Aug. 27, at 8:30 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 19th Ward, 475 N. 700 East. Elder Richards held many leadership positions and especially enjoyed teaching and working with the Samoan families in New Zealand. Family and friends are invited to visit at his home at 928 E. Sage Circle, Pleasant Grove, after the meeting. Robert P. Richards Girls volleyball registration announced Girl's volleyball for grades 3 through 8 will again be offered this year through Pleasant Grove Rec-reation. The program was a great success last year, and will be a lot of fun again this year. Sign-up- s will be through Sept. 2 at the Community Center at 61 E. 200 South. There will be a clinic on Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Games will be on Saturday mornings, with every effort to avoid conflicts with BYU home games. The clinic will be conducted by head PGHS coach Marie Bone and her players. Bronson, son of Van Lynn Bronson and Laurel Banta, will be held Sunday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Four-teenth Ward, 825 S. Loader Ave. He has recently returned from the Brazil, Porto Alegre LDS Mis-sion. An open house will be held at the family home where Mark will greet family and friends. Mark served in six cities and was under Mission President Larry S. Christensen. He was privileged to work with the mission president in the mis-sion home on the office staff. Mark A. They competed against teams from Cali-fornia, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Ari-zona, New Mexico, and Washing-ton. Dance Showcase Company teaches ballet, tap, jazz, clogging and gives the girls self-estee- by building on positive experiences in performance skills, stage presence Elder David Earl Hewitt called to Brazil mission Elder David Earl Hewitt, son of Edward and Renee Hewitt, Hurri-cane, has been called to serve in the Brazil, Belo Horizonte LDS Mis-sion. He spoke in a sacrament service Sunday, Aug. 20, in the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward. An open house was held the same afternoon at the home of Leonard and Loretta Carter, Pleasant Grove. Elder Hewitt will enter the Missionary Training Center Aug. 28. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1988. He was a member of Cloggers West for three years and traveled with them to Greece and England. He was also a member of the A Cappella Choir and Chamber Choir. He is an accomplished pianist. Swimming pool closing extended The 1989 swimming pool sea-son is fast coming to a close. Weather permitting, the pool season will be extended twoadditional swimming days from the previously announced closing day of SatUrdav Aug, 26. The pool will remain open on , Monday and Tuesday of next week. Admission will be on a discount basis as a "Thank You" for patron-izing the Pleasant Grove swimming pool during the 1989 season with the tickets being 75 cents, regard-less of age. As swimmers have noticed the water temperature has been sev-eral degrees cooler than in previ-ous year. This has been due to a rather large leak in the pool piping system which is not repairable until such time as the pool closes for the season. The pool management wishes to thank all who have come to the pool and participated in swimming lessons, public swim-ming and private parties. The new Bromine dininfectant system, which was installed sev-eral years ago, has continued to provide a very clean and beautiful water for swimming and other special attractions. Open house to honor Max and Helen Baldwin on anniversary The children of Max and Helen Oviatt Baldwin will honor them at an open house for their 50th wed-ding anniversary. The open house will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the American Fork West Stake Center Cultural Hall, 165 N. 350 West The event is open to all friends and relatives. They request no gifts. Max and Helen were married Sept. 5, 1939 in Castle Dale. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Max was born in Monroe to Jess and Ada Winget Baldwin. He was raised in Wellington and worked in the coal mines until 1945, then worked at Geneva Steel until re-tirement. He worked at the Provo LDS Temple for several years. He is assistant High Priest group leader in the American Fork 7th Ward, where they have lived since 1945. Helen was born in Elmo to Charles and Ada Olsen Oviatt. She was raised in Elmo. She's a home-make- r. They are both active in the LDS Church, where they have held many positions. They are the parents of seven children: Mrs. Jim (Lorna) Gor-don, American Fork; Mrs. Rodney (LaRain) John, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Larry (Yvonne) Brown, Pleas-ant Grove; Mrs. Dennis J.
