John Frampton shows a student how to properly use an ATV. ; ATV safety class begins for youngsters ;; The first ATV safety and training train-ing course was held in Pleasant Grove on June 3. John Frampton has been trained through the state as a certified instructor to educate and certify children ages eight to fifteen on how to properly and safely operate an ATV. The course takes about four to five hours to complete. Parents who stayed and watched commented on how much they themselves had learned. Riding off-highway vehicles is very popular in Utah. As more people start riding, the chance for accidents acci-dents goes up, Frampton stated. A law passed in 1987 requires OHV education for all operators eight through fifteen who use public pub-lic lands.
