Show Lady Vikes sail to victory in meet as Simmons comes off injured list Rhonda Simmons and Sherilyn Patch were double event winners as the Lady Vikings won a three way track meet against Provo and Payson, Tuesday, April 12. Simmons, who had to sit out the first two meets due to knee problems, won the 100 meters and 300 meter hurdles, while Patch, just a sophomore, won the 200 and long iumn Other first place winners for the Lady Vikes were, Shanna Nielsen (shot put), Kirsten VanDyke (400) and Korrine Estes (javelin). PG totaled 74 points to 62 for Provo and 25 for Payson. In the boys division, Craig Hayden continued his domination of the long jump and high jump while Eric Cook won the 3200 and Jason Lutes was tops in the discus. Provo won the boys meet with i points, Payson had 53 and the ViU had 41. m In the girls 1600 meter relay Lena Kerr, running third, got the 'baton and was behind by 20 meters Don the backstretch, Kerr exploded to roar by Provo and came on to VanDyke a 20 yard lead. VanDvb increased the lead to give the eirk the relay win. |
