Show PG Boosters installing a new batting practice cage at the PGIIS baseball field are, L-K, Mike Utley in the Westroc truck, and Tom Prestwich, Layne Atwood and Steve Chipman. Boosters Club builds batting cage as part of designated service project Although there were no baseball games played at Viking field over the weekend, there was a lot of activity at the ball park. Saturday, April 16 was designated as a Viking Boosters service project day and several Boosters turned out to participate. The Boosters assisted in construction con-struction of a new batting cage at the Pleasant Grove High School. This project is only one of the exciting ex-citing accomplishments of the newly organized Boosters. A portion of the funding for this cage was made possible from the first football foot-ball pre-game barbecue held in September sponsored by the Boosters and also from the Pleasant Grove City Recreation.- However, there have been significant donations made by the following people and businesses to assist in the project: Westroc; Layne Atwood and Atwood Construction; Con-struction; Kent Larsen and Superior Plate and Cutting; Marcel DeRoest and Rocky Mountain Welding; Pete Hunsaker and Pro Fab.; Steve Peterson Interiors and Wallace Harding Fencing. Coach Hoover also received a helping hand from Booster members, mem-bers, baseball players, and hard working young men from Valley View School in giving the baseball field a bit of a face lift. Players will notice a difference in the infield and base lines when they take the field this week. The day was filled with hard work and much was accomplished. Lunch was served by several of the ladies from the Boosters organization. Again, thanks to all who helped. |
