Show Preparedness group organizes, will meet Tuesday in PI. Grove A resource center to provide all residents of Utah valley with emergency preparedness information in-formation has been formed in Pleasant Grove. Calling itself the Emergency Preparedness Action Committee (EMPAC), the group will meet Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Kiwanis room of the Pleasant Grove Police Department Depart-ment Building. This and similar meetings, held Tuesday evenings at the same time and location as listed above, address back-to-basics emergency preparedness information as well as in-depth and practical know-how. "In light of the increased interest being put on the Utah County Sheriff's Divison of Emergency Services and the Civil Defense programs, and because of the tremendous human resources available in our own communities, a resource center would help to better expand emergency readiness in our valley," a spokesman for the committee said. The committee has three goals: - To serve as a resource information in-formation center. - To hold a weekly workshop, as mentioned above. - To prepare seminars that could be presented by experts to different groups in the valley. EMPAC has already assigned chairmen for communciations, food storage, water supply, winter clothing, organizing the neighborhood, neigh-borhood, emergency childbirth, computerizing date on group preparedness and more. The committee is looking for volunteers who are experienced in any area of emergency preparedness. prepared-ness.
