Show Leonard Shaw ( dDlbfiitiiDaiirneg ) Joseph B. Thompson , fly "' Leonard Wayne Shaw. 71. of Copperton, died Saturday. March 12. 19K8 at his home of heart failure. He was born Feb. 25, 1917 in Copperfield to Lancelot and Lucy Marie Adams Shaw. He married Nyda Bernice Sabey Sept. 16, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was retired as a foreman at U.S. Steel, Geneva. He had lived in Bingham, Lehi and Chester, before moving to Copperton. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a Taylor, Valencia, Calif.: Mrs. Bruce (Dina) Webb, Lehi, and Mrs. Kent (Deon) Gurnev, American Fork; 20 grandchildren; grand-children; six greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one sister: Mrs. Marjorie Dehlin, Copperton. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Wayne Shaw. Funeral will be Wednesday, 11 a.m.. Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 E. Main, Lehi, where friends may call one hour prior to services. ser-vices. Burial in Lehi City Cemetery. Joseph Benjamin Thompson, 74, died March 1 1, 1988 in American Fork. He was born April Hi, 1913 in Vernal, to Joseph Benjamin and Alice Clark Thompson. He was employed by United Concrete Plant for 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a great outdoorsman, loved fishing and hunting. He loved to read books. Eggett &: :v ::'.;;:;: : ;g Brett Douglas Eggett, infant son of Dennis Lee and Loretta Huffaker Eggett, Richland, Wash., former residents of American Fork, was born with his twin brother, Russell, on Wednesday, March 9, and died on Saturday, March 12. Brett's moments on earth were brief, but he had such a sweet spirit and was deeply loved by his parents and family. He touched the hearts and lives of many. He was preceded in death by his brother Gregory and his grandmother, Marjorie Eggett. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Elise and Allison, and his twin brother Russell. Also by grandparents, Walter P. Eggett and Douglas and Vera Huffaker. Graveside services will be held at the American Fork Cemetery on Wednesday Wed-nesday at 11 a.m. Viewing will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Anderson An-derson and Sons Mortuary. Florence Cordner Tomlinson, 86, died Tuesday, March 8, 1988 at the home of a daughter in Pleasant Grove. She was born Aug. 2, 1901 in Orem, a daughter of Alexander and Nellie Jean Park Cordner. She married Wrenard A. Tomlinson Oct. 22, 1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Aug. 2, 1962. She was raised and educated in Orem, she moved to Lindon after her marriage, where she and her husband owned and operated a fruit farm. In 1950 they moved to Midvale, where they operated a retail and wholesale fruit business. After her husband's death, she returned to Orem for a time and then lived in Holladay, Salt Lake County, until her recent illness. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many capacities. She did extensive genealogy research. meditation music. Bob Tomlinson gave the opening prayer. Speakers included Lori Larsen, who gave a personal history; Bishop Ted Wheat; Gene Crawford; and Bishop Gardner. Musical numbers included an accordian solo, "Somewhere My Love," by Alan M. Bezzant; vocal solos, "Perhaps Love," by Launi Mecham, and "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked," by Steve Crawford. Both were accompanied by Jacquelin Kirkpatrick. Scott Crawford offered of-fered the benediction. Mark Bezzant dedicated the grave at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tarry Lee Tomlinson, Dee Tomlinson, Shirl Tomlinson, Kim Tomlinson, Alan Bezzant, Bez-zant, Brett Bezzant, Bob Tomlinson. Hunter She is survived by one son and two daughters: Glade Tomlinson, Bullhead City, Ariz.; Mrs. Mark (Dena) Bezzant, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Gene (Sherry) Crawford, Salt Lake City; 23 grandchildren; grand-children; 73 great grandchildren. Two sons Lloyd and Vard, and one daughter, Vivian, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, 1988, in the Holladay 26th LDS Ward Chapel, under the direction of Bishop Eric Gardner. Terry Lee Tomlinson offered the family prayer and Jacquelin Kirkpatrick played Virginia Thornton Hunter, 66, of San Pablo, Calf., former American Fork resident, died Wednesday, Wed-nesday, March 9, 1988 in Pimole, Calif. She was born June 13, 1921 in American Fork to William and Haydee Trane Thornton. She married Richard Elmo Hunter June 10, 1946 in American Fork. She owned and managed Thornton Drug in American Fork for She was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include her husband of San Pablo, Calif.; a daughter, Marsha Young, Richmond, Calif.; six grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. many years until it was sold in 1958. Edgar Colgrove Edgar Colgrove, 79, of Provo, died Saturday, Satur-day, March 12, 1988, in American Fork. He was born May 27, 1908, a son of William F. and Verna Aitken Colgrove. He married Rosa Carol Mortimore Sept. 6, 1950 in the Manti Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a carpenter and a bricklayer. He worked as a prison guard at the Utah State Prison. He was a retired American Fork City employee. He had a hobby of making violins. He. loved hunting and fishing. He served as a medic in World War II, participating par-ticipating in the D-Day invasion of Utah Beach. Survivors include his wife of Provo; one son and four daughters: Steven Cochran of Lynchburg, Va., Penny Hiernu of Golden, Colo., Michael Warner, Roxene Jorgensen. and Peggy Colgrove all of Provo. He is also survived by 19 grand children and one brother, George W. Colgrove . of Gehring, Neb. Funeral will be Thursday at noon in the Sunset LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 2580 W. 200 South, Provo. She was born March 15, 1899 in Pleasant Grove, to John Heber Edward and Anna Marie Monson Jeppson. She married Oliver Clyde Smith Oct. 29, 1919 in Pleasant Grove. The marriage was later i solemnized in the Salt I Lake LDS Temple. He died June 16, 1987. Turner Arthur Nielson Turner, 75, of Pleasant Grove, died Saturday, March 12, 1988 at his home of a malignant brain tumor. He was born June 22, 1912 in Pleasant Grove to Edward Joseph and Annie Nielson Turner. He married Winnifred Shepherd June 22, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A machinist by trade, he was a credit to his profession. He took pride in his work and gained many friends from among those who sought his expertise and superior workmanship. He retired from U.S. Steel in 1974 where he had been employed for many years. Loving the machinist trade, he ' continued to do occasional oc-casional jobs from his own shop for friends and associates.
