John Nielson Four local youths receive Eagle badges Eric Thomas, John Nielson, Clinton Lindstrom and Paul Olsen received their Eagle Badges in ceremonies held recently in the Manila Stake. Eric, son of Mike and Adrienne Thomas, is a member of Troop 844. He is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School where he served as junior class president, seminary president and played on the all-state football team and played basketball. For his Eagle project, Eric planted bitter brush for the deer in the foothills east of Pleasant Grove. John is the son of James Rue and Mary Nielson. He served as quartermaster, quar-termaster, patrol leader, senior patrol leader and also first and second counselor in his Deacons Quorum presidency. He is an honor student in the eighth grade at Pleasant Grove Junior High School. In his scouting acshievements he has attained the 'Arrow of Light Award, the Super Scout Award, The Gospel In Action award and his Faith in God award. For his Eagle project, John built 12 nesting boxes for the Sparrow Hawk or Kestrel and mounted them in trees in the Manila and Highland areas. Clint is the son of Jeff and Lynne Lindstrom. He has served as patrol leader, quartermaster and bugler. He is an eighth grader at Pleasant Grove Junior High School. His scouting achievements include being a member of the Order of the Arrow and a member of the Tim-berline Tim-berline Training Camp staff. For his Eagle project, Clint organized an Easter Egg Hunt for the town of Cedar Hills. Paul is 14 years old, an eighth grader at Pleasant Grove Junior High School. He is the son of Theron and Kristie Olsen. He has served as quartermaster, librarian and secretary of the Teachers Quorum. Paul is a member of the school orchestra, the track team and the Pleasant Grove swim team. He has a paper route for the Daily Herald. He has received the Arrow of Light award and the Gospel in Action Ac-tion award. For his Eagle project, Paul collected clothing and sent it to the Indians in Mexico. |
