Show Rash of burglaries in PG family learned that the tools were missing from the garage. The tools are valued at $150. Officer Of-ficer Cody Cullimore assisted with the investigation. Edna Holdaway, 200 N. 430 East, returned Saturday night to find that her home had been burglarized. Diamond rings, money, watches and other items of sentimental value had been taken. The missing items are valued at $3,500 approximately Tools valued at $125 were taken from the home of Sterling Pierce, 151 N. 1300 East. The items were recovered by the police. Sgt. Blackhurst warned residents to be extra careful in locking their homes and urged all citizens to be on the lookout for anything suspicious in their neighborhoods. He said that the burglars are hitting on Saturdays and Sundays and he believes that they are the same ones that have been committing com-mitting burglaries in American Fork for several weeks. He also explained that they have recovered some property which they cannot identify. He suggested that those living near the Cornell Haynie residence should check their garages and see if anything is missing. Officers arrested one male adult on Sept. 27 and charged him with simple assault after an' altercation between him and his girlfriend. Officer Jay Thornton investigated. Chester L. Jensen, 525 S. Pleasant i Drive, reported that his mailbox, valued at $15, had been pried from its mounting on a retaining wall and was repeatedly run over in the street. There are no suspects, according ac-cording to Officer Cullimore. Dr. Byron Rosquist, 405 S. 100 East Suite 104, reported that an activator gun valued at $130 had been taken from his office. There are no suspects. Police report that they are still seeking a suspect in the arson fire last week at Jim's Auto Center. Jim Danklef, owner, said damage to the building was set at $40,000 while damage to the equipment and supplies was estimated at $20,000. A Pleasant Grove youth was arrested for DUI following an auto accident in Iindon on Sept. 25. Det. Bert Bean was the arresting officer. Monty Williams, 1108 W. 200 South, Lindon, reported that tools he left at a building site had been taken. He estimated that $500 worth of tools were taken. A large number of items, no value listed, were taken from the car and shed of Jay Glen Roundy, 89 N. 800 West, Lindon, on Sept. 25. Officer Cullimore states that there are suspects. A juvenile apparently went to sleep and rolled his car Saturday night at Center Street and State Road 89. The damage to the car was set at $3,000 and about $500 damage was sustained to trees, shrubs and plants that decorate the entrance to the city. Jim Taufer was the investigating officer. Pleasant Grove Police Officers believe that a series of burglaries in recent days are related to similar 'ones being investigated in American Fork. Sgt. Mike Blackhurst reported that several burglaries occurred over the weekend and he believes that the same suspects committed all of the offenses. The home of former mayor, W. Cornell Haynie, 80 S. 1300 East, was burglarized Saturday night. A family member returned home and saw a light in his parents bedroom. He looked in the window and saw someone going through his parents things. He went to the neighbors and called the police and Detective Bert Bean arrived and entered the home. The burglar apparently heard the officer's radio and fled from the home. According to the officers, two diamond rings, $37 in cash, a fishing knife and scabbard all valued at 2,077 were taken. A sliding door into the home had been forced for entry. ; ! Elliot Howe, 245 S. 400 East, awoke that same night when he heard and engine running. He looked out and saw someone drive off in his pickup. When he found that none of his family had taken it, he called the police. The truck was found near the Lindon off-ramp from 1-15. The ignition had been hotwired, but otherwise it was unhurt. The officers recovered some tools in a field near the Gary Norton residence, 1321 E. 150 North on Monday. They had Mr. Norton's name oh them so the police notified the family. Upon checking, the |
