Show We found treasures but didn't have sale artsy school creations, clothes, shoes, games and toys. It took us hours. But we carefully went over each item, remembering who gave it to us and for what birthday. bir-thday. (Afterall, they should appreciate the plaid polyester pants that their mom wore in the 8th grade. I think it is an inherited trait. Our family is noted for saving things "just in case" we might need it sometime. Our garage is full of stuffed animals, spray paint cans, studded tires, church baseball equipment, relief society decorator grapes, curtain rods, macrame plant hangers, games, tarps, toys, lawn mowers, (we have two just in case one breaks), a ping pong table, costumes, Christmas decorations, fish aqauriums, and camping equiptment. Our food storage is strategically placed in any empty corner The floor of our garage is lightly sprinkled with the silver glitter my mom used for her last roadshow. One summer when I returned home from college, my dad in- formed the family, that we were going to clean out the garage and have a sale. The table saw was uncovered ay. my dad is now building shelves It store our memories. Garage sales are good things -even if you never get around I , actually having one. Eventually, my one huge pile turned into two. One tiny pile was for "the "sale" items; the "save" pile was heaped with all the stuff I was not yet ready to part with. k I even traded shoes, clothes and books with my sister. In the end, my "save" pile was even bigger then when it had started. . . . My dad, in cleaning out his portion of the garage, found my red (a bit rusty) wagon, go-cart, and my old Needless to say, I had very little to offer to for the sale. After much negotiation, it was decided to give my Purple stingray with a banana seat, sissy bar and matching basket to a deserving little neighborhood girl up the street. That was one transaction I could feel good about. As far as my other possessions, I kept them. I'm still not ready to part with them . . . yet. |
