Show Rockets to glare for Fourth of July Pleasant Grove residents will not have to travel to Provo to enjoy a gigantic fireworks display this year thanks to the efforts of John Frampton, the Pleasant Grove Fire Department and others. The aerial display will begin at 9:30 p.m. or dusk at the Pleasant Grove High School Football field on July 4th. Over 100 aerial shots will fill the night sky. The event is free to the public. The Pleasant Grove Fire Department has supervised the plans for the event under the direction of Fire Chief Hay Newman with Firefighter Blain Gray in charge. Nearly a year ago John Frampton came to the Pleasant Grove City Council offering his services to instigate the fireworks display for the coming July 4th. He received the cooperation of the city at that time. The fireworks display is costly, however, and donations are still needed to completely finance the project. All of you who appreciate a good fireworks display and who are glad to not have to travel out of the community may help by making a contribution to the project at the city hall. |
