The Queen Pageani will be held tonight at 7 : 30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. 'Yesterday, Today and Forever This is week for PG Homecoming 1 "Yesterday, Today and Forever, f is the theme of the Pleasant Grove J High School Homecoming festivities V being held this week. The school has selected two women in the community who have given a ;5j tremendous amount of service for the students and the city to be the Grand lif Marshalls for the 1982 Homecoming Parade. 11,11 Ruth Hassenfritz was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. She has spent the last 31 years in Pleasant Grove and enjoys fishing and photography. Ruth has worked with the senior citizens since 1973 and is now the director. She is also a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Progress Committee and secretary to the Utah Girl Scout Council. Lotti Carlson was raised in the Uintah Basin and Heber City. She raised her brothers and sisters at a young age and began sewing their clothes. She does fine handwork and makes custom quilts. She has been instrumental in raising money for the "G." She has made quilts with the senior citizens and raffled them off, donating the money to city and school projects. The week's Homecoming events . began Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock with the Homecoming Parade. Each queen candidate entered en-tered a float which was judged. The . Grand Marshalls, city and school officials also rode in the parade. The Senior Citizens also served as Grand Marshalls. Thursday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. is the Queen Pageant in the high school auditorium. There is no charge for admission. Twenty-two girls have worked hard, so come and support them this evening. Friday's events include a pep rally at 4:30 p.m. to start off an exciting game against Uintah, followed by the dance that evening. "Even the Nights are Better," is the theme. London Bridge will beginning playing at 8:30 p.m. in the girl's gym. The queen and her royalty will be presented at 10 p.m. and all the candidates will dance to the theme song. We hope everyone will treasure yesterday, enjoy today, and remember it forever. |
