Show Review - Thursday. September 16. 1982 - Page 3 Wilson visits Geneva Wilson said, "and we've got to work to get our economy on its feet and people working again." "Unemployment in Utah County is one of the state's highest - to me that is unacceptable," Senate candidate Mayor Ted Wilson told workers at U.S. Steel's Geneva Plant during a recent visit. "This is my sixth campaign ap-pearance in Utah County," Wilson said, "and it continues to worry me that Geneva workers are most con-cerned about whether they'll have a job next week. And I think our senators need to take action against the dumping of foreign steel in this country." Wilson began his campaign visit with a 7:20 a.m. meeting with Geneva employees as they left the plant. At 8:45 a.m., he toured the plant. Later he joined the workers for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. "The economy is still the biggest concern of most Utahns I talk to," $kaaant (fkoue iSeutcui South Main. Pleasant Grove. The school has selected two women in the community who have given a ;5j tremendous amount of service for the students and the city to be the Grand lif Marshalls for the 1982 Homecoming Parade. 11,11 Ruth Hassenfritz was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. She has spent the last 31 years in Pleasant Grove and enjoys fishing and photography. Ruth has worked with the senior citizens since 1973 and is now the director. She is also a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Progress Committee and secretary to the Utah Girl Scout Council. Lotti Carlson was raised in the Uintah Basin and Heber City. She raised her brothers and sisters at a young age and began sewing their clothes. She does fine handwork and makes custom quilts. She has been instrumental in raising money for the "G." She has made quilts with the senior citizens and raffled them off, donating the money to city and school projects. The week's Homecoming events . began Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock with the Homecoming Parade. Each queen candidate en-tered a float which was judged. The Grand Marshalls, city and school officials also rode in the parade. The Senior Citizens also served as Grand Marshalls. Thursday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. is the Queen Pageant in the high school auditorium. There is no charge for admission. Twenty-tw- o girls have worked hard, so come and support them this evening. Friday's events include a pep rally at 4:30 p.m. to start off an exciting game against Uintah, followed by the dance that evening. "Even the Nights are Better," is the theme. London Bridge will beginning playing at 8:30 p.m. in the girl's gym. The queen and her royalty will be presented at 10 p.m. and all the candidates will dance to the theme song. We hope everyone will treasure yesterday, enjoy today, and remember it forever. The scales prove it: Betty Lambert is already winning at the losing game. After just six days of dieting, Betty has lost 4 pounds, following the Diet Center Program. - "Today is the 7th day of my dieting and what a relief to know I can stick to it, even when desserts are offered. I know that one bite of sugar will be the end of a hard week's work, so I keep my promise to 'think thin'." said Betty. DIET CENTER OF PLEASANT GROVE J .
