The Celtics were down 11 points at one time, but came back and took a one point lead with less than one minute to go. But Scott Bcagley was fouled and hit both free throws, and after a Celtic turnover did it again to ensure a Laker victory. In other games, the Bullets beat the Knicks 49-3- 0 behind Darren Hooley's 21 points. The Spurs finished un-defeated as they got by the Spirits 64-3- 8 with Greg Bahr and Shane Ortega both scoring 20 for the Spurs and Mark Bronson getting 17 for the Spirits. Also, the 76ers beat the Suns 45-4- 1 and the Cougars blew out the Jazz 52-2- The Bantam League Tournament began Wednesday and continues through Saturday with the cham-pionship game set for noon on Saturday. Pleasant Grove played the taller American Fork Cavemen close for three quarters before falling 84-6- 0 last week in the season's last sophomore basketball game. Matt Norman scored 16 points for PG but Brock Knight countered with 21 for the Cavemen. The starting fives battled fairly close with PG trailing one, six and 12 at the end of the first, second and third quarters. But it was PG's bench that cost the Vikings a chance at being close. The connected on only 6 of 34 shots, 18 percent, while AF blistered the nets at a 54 percent rate to bury PG in the final quarter. PG did shoot very well from the line by hitting 20 of 26. Jim Brown played and shot well while scoring 12 points with Doug Monson adding 9 and Chad Chipman scoring 8 for the Vikes. Pee Wee Pitchball Registration To Be Held Saturday, Next Week Registration for Pee Wee Pitchball will be held March 13 and 20 at the Pleasant Grove Recreation Center from 10:30 a.m. to noon. In Pee Wee Pitchball, everyone gets a chance to play and there are no winners or losers. All boys and girls ages six to eight or grades first, second and third may participate. Officials report that the schedule will not interfere with soccer. The fee is $10. Parents are needed to serve as coaches and assistant coaches. They attended a tournament at Morgan, Utah last Saturday. Out of 31 boys who wrestled, 24 received metals. Third place: Nathan Hilton, Travis Hansen, Paul Mattinson, Brad Mills, Chad Hunt, Eddie Candland, Chad Atkinson, Coy Hall. Second place: Kyle Sanderson, Tracy Smith, Kevin Pack, Donald Willis, Shane Duvall. First place: Gary Sanderson, Cole Kelley, Chad Jacob, Mike Smith, Cody Atkinson, Gary Hall, Lonnie Truex, Shane Jacob, Daniel Phelon, Chris Cook, Kelly Sanderson. The state region tournament will be held at Mountain View High School at Orem this Saturday. Boys who place at this will be invited to wrestle at State to be held at Viewmont High School in Bountiful the following Saturday.
