Show THURRSDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 1980 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7 1980 Funeral Services Held on Monday for Bill Hamilton Funeral services for William F. Hamilton, 64, were held Monday, Feb. 4 in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, under the direction of Bishop Kenneth Jarvis of the Fourteenth Ward. Mr. Hamilton died Friday, Feb. 1 at his home. Speakers at the ser-vices were Bishop Jar-vi- s and President John P. Gourley and a life sketch was given by Bliss Brimley. Musical numbers were given by William E. Petersen, accom-panied by Donna Keate and by Anne Hill and Alice Myers on the violin and piano. Prayers were given by Clive Pulham, Eugene Jarvis, and Mont Pulham and the grave in the Orem City Cemetery was dedicat-ed by Arland Pulham. Pallbearers were Bob, Douglas, Scott, and Wayne Shepherd and Micky Braithwaite and Carl Banks. Honorary pallbearers were Michael, and Chad Braithwaite and Eric, Shaun, Travis and Bryon Shepherd and the 14th Ward High Priests Quorum. William F. Hamilton was born May 20, 1915 in Midway, to David Marton and Delia Clara Van Wagoner Hamil-ton, He married Mavis Pulham on Jan. 15, 1949 Lehi. The mar-riage was later solem-nized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Jan. 6, 1967. He mar-ried LaRue Smith on July 23, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He held the of-fice of High Priest in the Pleasant Grove 14th Ward at the time of his death. He served as a counselor in the Elders quorum presi-dency and as Scou-tmaster. He was a retired employee of Geneva Steel and was also a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, Bob Shepherd, Douglas Shepherd, Mrs. Michael (Sharon) Braithwaite, Mrs. Carl (Debbie) Banks, all of Spanish Fork; 21 grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters, Floyd Hamilton of Park City; Mrs. Elgin (Lela) McAffee of Pleasant Grove; Orvil Hamilton of Tooele, Charles Hamilton of Lake Mead, Nev.; Bert Hamilton of Carson C-ity, Calif; Barbara Mason of Harbor City, ) Calif, and Mrs. William ' (Doris) Hermanson of Salt Lake City. ROADSHOW Twelfth Ward actors having outstanding road show are Teresa Mills, Kerry Hoglund, Jay Mills, Non Adams, Troy Blakesley, Sheila Neilsen, Sharon Hoglund and David Brady. They performed well. Awards Given for PI. Grove Stake Roadshows Boo Boo'Originality Specialist was Colleen McMillian. Many awards were won by those par-ticipating in the Plea-sant Grove Stake road- - costume, and makeup, specialists were Jayne Grey and Estelle Slater. Lindon 2nd, "The 20's and 30's" Par-ticipation in Dance, specialist was Barbara Malie. Lindon 3rd, "When Life Was Simple" Outstanding Scenery and Special Effects, Specialist was Vivian Miller. Lindon 4th, "Or Has It Always Been" Good plot development, specialists were Bonnie Aucoin and Mark Christensen. Lindon 5th "Bomar's shows held Wednesday Jan 30th. Those that came en-joyed a good night of entertainment. Lex Nelson acted as master of ceremonies and kept the audience entertain-ed between roadshows. Norman and Ludene Barton presented a trophy to Pleasant Grove 12th Ward for Outstanding Overall Roadshow. Roadshows and other awards were as follows: Pleasant Grove 1st Ward: "As the Burger Turns" Outstanding Use of Theme and Music and Dance, specialists were June Ash and Andrea Olsen. Pleasant Grove 5th "The Class Reunion of 1920" Outstanding Overall Roadshow and Outstanding Percen-tage of Youth Par-ticipation, specialists were Joanne Brady and Bernell Taylor. Lindon 1st "Do You Remember Noah" Outstanding Poster and Outstanding Funeral Rites Held Last Friday for Leah Millar Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 1 for Leah Bunnell Green Millar, who died on Jan. 28 of cancer. The ser-vices were directed by Bishop Iowa Hall of the Pleasant Grove Fifth Ward. Speakers at the ser-vices were Bishop Welby Gammon and Bishop Harvey Smith, and remarks were also given by Bishop Hall. Eva Deveraux gave a life sketch. Prayers were given by Clyde O. Green, Clarence G. Millar and Harry Deveraux and the grave in the Ple-asant Grove City Cemetery was dedicat-ed by Leland S. Millar. Musical numbers were given by William E. Petersen, accom-panied by LaVon Har-war- Jeanne Walker and JoAnne Brady, ac-companied by Sandra Walker and by Dixie Beck, accompanied by Alice Myers. Pallbearers were Clyde O. Green Jr., Max B. Green Jr., Ear-ly Lynn Green, Roger B. Green, Harold Wayne Green and Ken-neth Earl Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Shawn C. Smith, R. Brian Southwick, Douglas Harold Green, Russell Conroy, Thomas L. Grieve and Kevin L. Draper. Mary Helen Brailsford Rites Held Last Thursday Funeral services for Mary Helen Brailsford, who died Jan. 28, 1980 were held Thursday, Jan. 31 in the Pleasant Grove Utah Stake Center under the direc-tion of Bishop Loren E. Bone of the PI. Grove First Ward. Speakers at the ser-vices were Maxine Allred and Lloyd K. Ash, and Bishop Bone also gave remarks. A life sketch was given by Byron Rasmussen. Muscical numbers were given by Jim Brailsford, who played a violin solo, and Bob and Clairene Downs sang a vocal duet, ac-companied by Lora Johnson. Prayers were given by Fred Rasmussen, Jim Rasmussen and Gary Rasmusen, and the grave in the Ple-asant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Craig Rasmussen. Pallbearers were Ronald, Kevin, Carl John, and Thomas R. Brailsford, Creig V. Fryer and Dean Hood. Honorary pallbearers were James D., Gary, Craig, Fred A., Byron, and Steven Rasmussen, Robert Lloyd, Steve Douglass and Jim and Leonard Brailsford. Funeral Rites Held for Mrs. Peterson Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, 1980 for Marilla Har-war- d Peterson of Lin-don, who died on Jan. 30. The services were held in the Orem Stake Center under the direc-tion of Bishop John C. Crandall of the Orem 40th Ward. Speakers at the ser-vices were Marell R. Rischner and Bishop Milton Smith and remarks were also given by Bishop Cran-dall. A life sketch was given by Iva Lue Baldwin. Prayers were offered by Thomas Harward, Bishop Wayne B. Johnson and Eugene Gibbons, and the grave in the Orem City Cemetery was dedicat-ed by Duaine O. Peter-son. Musical numbers were given by a sextet, Dona Walker, Mable Walker, Lorna Walker, Deana Powers, Verna Bean and Arvalee Beckstead, accom-panied by Lue Henriksen. Pallbearers were Brian, Odis and Heber Peterson, Kendall Lee, Kerry R. and Kyle Devin Walker. Marilla Harward Peterson was born Mar. 9, 1912 in Aurora, Utah to Ozias Strong and Francis Eva Curtis Harward. She married Melvin Lamar Peterson Sr. July 2, 1934 in Pro-ve later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. He died March 24, 1979. She was an active member of the LDS Church in the Orem 40th Ward, moving to Lindon only recently. Survivors include sons, daughter, Melvin Lamar, Jr., Palm Spr-ings, Calif.; Mrs. Ronald (Vera Dean) Walker, Lindon; Merrill H Richland, Wash.; Duaine Ozias, Orem, 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Thomas Harward, Jar-m- a Afton Harward, both American Fork, Heber Harward, Elmira Lewis, both Provo, Harvey Harward, Orem; Sharland Har-ward, Provo.
