Show THURSDAY, JULY , l?SO PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH THURSDAY, JULY 17, 1980 Former Resident Dies in California Mary Ethel Clark Allyn died July 11, 1980 in a Pomona, California hospital. She was born in Plea-sant Grove. Utah to Hyrum L. and Mary Ellen Ward Clark. She married Bruce L. Allyn Oct. 6, 1917. Survivors include her husband and two sons, Bruce C, Pomona; Richard C, Salt Lake City; two grandchildren; five A son, Lewis was killed serving in the Navy during WW II. Also surviving are a brother, Harold L. Clark, Pleasant Grove; sisters Susanna Mae Grua, Arvilla C. King, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Leon (Eva) Talor, Lehi; Elaine C. Baxter, Orem. Funeral rites and burial were carried out on July 14 in Pomona, Calif. Funeral Rites Held for Beverly Benson Tuesday in Orem, and was ac-tive in the Archery Club and an avid out-door sportswomen. Survivors include her husband, one son and one daughter, Michael Leon Hanson and Mrs. Dahl (Sheri Lynn) Dodge, both of Kellogg, Idaho; her mother, Orem; two stepsons and three stepdaughters, Brad Benson, Lehi, Lisa Benson, Orem; Scott Benson and Mrs. Kelvin (Chris) Adam-son- , both of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. David (Allison) Phillips, Kem-mere- r, Wyo.; two brothers and three sisters, LaMar Peacock, Ted Peacock, Mrs. Leslie (June) Lar-son and Mrs. Mike (Sharlen) Smoot, all of Orem; Mrs. John (Bar-bara) Schiro, Pleasant Grove, and five grand-children. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Rae. Funeral services for Beverly Peacock Han-son Benson, 53, were held Tuesday, July 15, at 11 a.m. in the Sundberg-Olpi- n Mor-tuary Chapel in Orem. Mrs. Benson died Fri-day, July 11 at the American Fork Hospital. The services were under the direction of Harley Gillman. Speaker was Ray Louder and Mr. Gillman also gave remarks. A life sketch was given by Michael Smoot. Musical numbers were given by Jean McMillan and Inez Marchbanks, who sang a vocal duet accom-panied by Donna Gillman and by Tracy Schiro, who sang a vocal solo accom-panied by Carol Peacock. Prayers were given by Ted Peacock, Harold Hanson and Harry Peacock, and the grave in the Orem City Cemetery was dedica-ted by Leslie Larson. Pallbearers were Allan Larson, Steven Smoot, Scott Benson, Tony Schiro, Russell Peacock, and Craig Peacock. Honorary pallbearers were Brad Benson, Vince Schiro and Bart Peacock. She was born March 12, 1927 in Heiner, Carbon County, a daughter of Lloyd and Gertrude Burdick Peacock. She married Leon Hanson on June 19, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and he died Aug. 7, 1962. She married Reed Ben-son on June 9, 1963. The Tole Tree is owned and operated by Dorris and Howard Sorensen. They have a son Glenn and a son in law Chris that have also been helpful in their business venture. The Tole Tree goes back to 1977 in Mrs. Sorensens home where she taught classes. The classes grew and grew until there was need for a larger place. In May of 79, a shop was opened at 185 West 200 south but things continued to grow until there was need for more space and so the business was moved to its pre- - sent location 347 West 200 South. Dorris has had 5 years training in folk art and decorative painting. She has studied in Redlands, California; Dodge City, Kansas; Tulsa, Oklahoma, Denver Col-orado; Phoenix, Ariz and Decatur, Illinois, with leading artists in the field. Dorris feels that she can teach anyone the technique of decorative art to ap-ply to their home, fur-niture pieces, or for pleasure. Dog Owners Can Still Register for Kids Dog Show Dog owners between the ages of 4 and 14 can still register for the free Kids Dog Show to be held, Satur-day, July 19, at 7 p.m. at the city park in Plea-sant Grove. The Kids Dog Show is sponsored by the National Recreation and Park Association, Ken-- Ration and the Pleasant Grove Recreation Depart-ment. It aims to teach young dog lovers the responsibilities of pet ownership. At the same time provide the opportumty for them to join in the fun of parading their pets and winning prizes. Any dog may com-pete, regardless of breed, pedigree or pro-fessional training, pro-vided it is at least six months old, is on a leash, and has rabies shots. The judging categories include best behaved, funniest, best trick, smallest dog, largest dog, best look-ing, best costume, and best of show. Every entrant will be a winner. In addition to those receiving honors in one of the specific categories, each participant will receive a merit award ribbon and a Ken-- Ra-tion dog care booklet. Entry blanks for the Kids Dog Show are available at the Recreation Center in Pleasant Grove.
