Show Howard Writes . . . April Marks 30th Anniversary of TV The Review received a letter this past week from a former resident of Pleasant Grove, Howard Nelson. Howard now lives in St. George, where he moved after leaving Pleasant Grove. Howard was the first television dealer in Utah County, and operated a TV repair shop out of his home He also had a local band and played for local dances in this area. Howard wrote that he thought it was April 13, 1949 that the first program was picked up in Pleasant Grove. He had a few friends and neighbors in and perhaps owned the first set in Pleasant Grove. Of course we can't blame Howard for the bad or good that TV has brought us. If it had not been him, it would have been someone else. Anyway, 30 years of TV in Pleasant Grove, ought to be noted, be it for the good or bad. Howard still takes our paper, so we will say thanks to him for the reminder. |
