Show Clinic on Officiating Set for Toniqht at 7 Timpanogos Stake is asking for volunteer stop help score garnes. Those interested in helping with our program can call Wayne Pulley, director of the Junior league at 785-4776 or Robert Newman, Stake Athletic Director, for the 18 year and older league at 785-3018. The first game for the Junior will be Friday December 8th at the 3rd 11th Ward house as follows: 6 p.m. 4th - 11th, 7 p.m. 15 vs. 10, 8 p.m. Manila 1st - 6A, 9 p.m. Manila 2nd - 3rd, Manila 3rd, 2nd and 6b wards bye. The Seniors 18-29, and Veterans (30 up) will start play on Dec 15 at the Junior High School with 2nd ward as host. Following are the dates the Seniors and Veterans will play and the wards hosting the games; Dec 28 Manila 2nd ward host, Jan 5th 3rd Ward, Jan 18 11th Ward host, Jan 26 10th ward host, Feb 8 4th ward, Feb 16 Manila First Ward, Mar 1 6th Ward host, Mar 9th 15th ward host. Appreciation is expressed ex-pressed to Alpine School District and Pleasant Gove Junior High School official for the rental of the building. This allows the stakes to accomodate ac-comodate the women's recreation and athletic programs in the ward houses. With thirty teams participating in the Timpanogos Stake is look forward to an exciting ex-citing season of basketball. This Thursday, night, Dec 7, at 7 p.m. the Timpanogos Stake 'will sponsor an officiating clinic for all ward athletic directors, basketball officials and interested players at The Clinic will be held at the Pleasant Grove High School. The training session will consist of a film followed by questions and answers. 1 Tom Thomas, officials coordinator coor-dinator for LDS Athletics, Provo, area and basketball officials from BYU will call a basketball game between bet-ween the 2nd and 10th wards with on the spot explainations and demonstrations. The Alpine, Pleasant Grove and Pleasant Grove East Stakes are invited to attend. |
