Show Busy Month Planned by Senior Citizens Group in December A busy month of activities ac-tivities is planned by the Senior Citizens. First the oil painting class has been completed com-pleted for this season. Lessons will begin again in the Spring. Dates will be announced announ-ced at that time. Quilting is in full swing to be ready for Christmas. Under the direction of Lottie Carlson, there are quilts for sale, quilts made for gifts and quilting can be done for people by request. Travelogues will be shown on Thursday, December 7 and on Tuesday December 19. Blood pressure will be taken by the Health Nurses on Monday, December 11. Bingo is a regular event on Fridays right after dinner. Band practice is every Friday Morning. A new project is in the planning for a Craft Shop to be opened in the University Univer-sity Mall. This will be a county wide undertaking. under-taking. People will be able to take their hand made articles to be sold. More information will be announced at a later date. December 13, there will be a special program right after dinner. The Jorgensen, Song, dance and Acrobatic group will perform. This is a very talented group and always give a good show. Friday Dec. 22, will be the County Christmas Christ-mas dinner. The planned plan-ned menu is for ham-with ham-with cherry sauce, candied can-died yams, brocollie spears, moulded garden gar-den salad, home made rolls, apple pie and cheese. This meal, as is the daily meals, will be prepared in the central kitchens in Provo. At Thanksgiving 1750 meals were prepared and delivered hot to the centers and home bound. A great deal of credit is given to the kitchen staff and others who worked at full speed to get all the food prepared and delivered by noon. (Continued on page 3) Sr. Citizens Recognize Birthdays (Continued from page 1 ) The December birthday birth-day people will be given special recognition on this day. Saturday, Dec 23, will be our own Christmas party. Pot luck lunch means the best cooking skills of grandparents. This will be served at noon. The party will start at 10 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. Even Senior Citizens like to talk to Santa Clause so the jolly elf will arrive for gift exchange. This is truly a high light event of the year so all seniors plan to atend. Regular meals at the center will be closed from Dec 22 until Jan. 2, 1979 See you next year. |
