Show THURSDAY, JULY 14, 1977 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW PLEASANT GROVE. UTAH THURSDAY, JULY 14, 1977 Forms Available to Help People Determine Retirement Benefit More than a half-millio- n description forms filed by pension and welfare plans under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act are now available for public inspection, according to Secretary of Labor Ray Marshall. The EBS-- 1 plan description forms were filled out by the plans themselves. They are designed to inform the Labor Department and plan members about benefits offered and other provisions. "One of the principal objectives of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act," Secretary Marshall said, "is to let people know what benefits they have coming under retirement and other benefit plans, and the requirements to qualify. "By making these forms available, we hope to fulfill this objective," Marshall said. Henry C. Lee, area ad-ministrator of the Labor Department's Labor Management Services office in Denver, said that the plan descriptions are on microfilm but can be copied. Copies are obtainable from the Washington, D.C. headquarters for a copying fee to cover costs. "Reporting and disclosure is a key part of the depart-ment's enforcement effort," Lee said. "We must make these forms available for inspections in speedy fashion, or they will lose their meaning for those with an interest in learning about the rules and activities of their benefit plans." Lee also noted that the first annual report forms (5500 series) filed by plans will be available for public inspection starting Sept. 1. Inspection of the plan descriptions-an- d after Sept. 1, of the annual report forms-c- an be made at the Public Disclosure Room, N4677, Department of Labor Bldg., Third St. and Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20216 ). Stress is the rate of wear and tear y A on the body. It is anything that speeds up, keys up, or tenses up our bodies. We are all under stress every day. Without it we wouldn't move, think, get out of bed or care. We need it, but we don't need an excess of it. In order to deal with stress, we must understand how it works so we can learn to recognize it and cope with it. We must also learn to recognize when too much stress becomes more than we can handle alone. Then help is needed. Understanding some of the major symptons of stress can help us cope more effectively with it. The American Psychiatric Association points out that muscle tenseness is one of the most common symptoms of stress. A person under stress may be so tense that muscle cramping occurs. Tight neck, shoulder and upper back muscles may lead to head and backaches. Many of us have experienced a tension headache brought on by stress. Problems with sleep are also associated with stress. Trouble falling asleep and early waking are not un-common with a person ex-periencing stress. Fatigue can be a symptom of stress if it is not brought on by extreme physical exertion. Boredom, depression, dullness and lack of interest are also prevalent under stress.
