Show Officials Still Search For family of Year Nominations close on Tuesday, November 15, Dr. Haroldsen emphasized. Nominations may be made by a friend, neighbor, or community group, and are to be accompanied by three letters let-ters of recommendation. Full instructions are availble with the nomination forms. The Family of the Year and runners-up will receive special certificates of merit from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which sponsoring Utah Valley Family Month in November. Officials of Utah Valley Family Month today announced announ-ced that the Family of the Year, to be announced on Thanksgiving Day, will receive a special trip to Disneyland in recognition of their attainment. The Disneyland trip includes in-cludes free gas for the family car and accommodations, meals, and free admission for two days, according to Dr. Edwin Haroldsen, chairman of the Family of the Year committee. "We wish to emphasize," said Dr. Harolsen, "that our purpose in making the award is not really prize-oriented, but rather is directed toward honoring a family which best represents the highest ideals of family living here in Utah valley. At the same time, we feel that the Disneyland experience ex-perience is a fitting award. We are well award of the fine family oriented entertainment that Disneyland represents and we wish to give it our support." Nomination forms for the Family of the Year award are available through all churches chur-ches in Utah Valley, at local newspaper and radio offices, and at the LDS Communications Com-munications Council office at 209 North 400 West in Provo. |
