Janet Clark joined those first three teammates to get a faster time in the freestyle relay. In boys relays, Craig Giles, Kendall Voorhees, Kendall Green and Tom Carter set a new time in the 13-14 medley relay with Scott Jones, Mike Slater, Mark Clements and Brock Bennett in the 9-10 freestyle relay. In the girls 15-18 medley relay, Pam Davis, Molly Wright, Kim and Jeri Kelley set a new mark in that event. According to Coach Crump a new "record board" has recently been posted at the pool. As a beginning point, times were taken from those recorded in the Utah Valley Meet last summer. If a swimmer has a faster time recorded than the one posted and can produce evidence to verify that time, Coach Crump should be notified to assure an accurate account of record holders. The best source of evidence ev-idence is blue ribbons that have the time recorded on the back or a trophy with this information in-formation on the bottom. Pleasant Grove hosted Springville today, Thursday, July 1, at 7 a.m. This meet was held at about the time the postmen are getting ready to deliver your paper, so if you are reading this now, it is too late to see the meet. NEW RECORD BOARD Some of the record holders stand in front of the new board which shows best record for each event. If you have a better record, prove it and your name will be added to the record board. Lots of records are being broken. The Pleasant Grove Swim Team remains undefeated after their victory over Provo last Thrusday. Final score was P.G. 338, Provo 268. Coach Stan Crump expressed his satisfaction in the performance per-formance of his swimmers. He also explained that 12 team records were broken at the meet against Provo. Jason Allred set new records in two events, the 11-12 year old Intermediate and Breast Stroke. Other individuals to break records were Scott Jones in 9-10 backstroke, Brock Bennett in 9-10 freestyle, Judy Voorhees in 9-10 butterfly, Brad Baxter, boys 13-14 freestyle, Kendall Green in 13-14 butterfly and Donnell Voorhees in 13-14 breast stroke. Several relay teams accomplished ac-complished this same feat. In girls 9-10 medley relay, Krystin Hill, Dena Smith, Judy Voorhees and Jennifer Giles worked together well while |
