Show THURSDAY, JULY 1, 1976 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW. PLEASANT GROVE. UTAH THURSDAY, JULY 1, 1976 July Driver Training Course to Start at Utah Trade Tech on Tuesday. Jul y 6 The July driver training course for adults who have never driven before or who do not now have a driver's license will begin Tuesday, July 6, at Utah Technical College at Provo. Normally, classes start on the first Monday of the month, but because of the national holiday, classes will start July 6 this month only. Utah law now requires that an approved driver education course be taken before initial issuance of a driver's license. The Utah Tech course fills this requirement. Classwork will begin and registration take place at 5:30 that evening in the driver training portion of the College, located just inside the west entrance to the south wing of the College. The classes will meet daily 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in order to enable completion of classwork by the end of the month. The course is open to anyone ; not enrolled in high school.; Tuition is $40 for the course, which utilizes the latest and most thorough techniques of driver training, including simulated driving in the electronic-mechanic- "Drive-O-Trainer-at the College. Check Here for the Latest in Recreation and Activiity Programs for Pleasant Grove City colntestants are encouraged to be at the park and registered ready to go by 2 p.m. Those entering will receive a small book on dog training (only 100 available) so first come, first served. Park Games and Activities A special feature of the park games and activities class this Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the park area west of the swim-ming pool will be a demon-stration on skateboarding. This is being arranged to help prepare those interested in entering the skateboard contest to be held July 16. Boys and girls are en-couraged to come out each Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and join in the fun in the park area west of the pool. Dog Show Friday On Friday, July 2nd, the Pleasant Grove City Recreation will sponsor a Dog Show for kids between the ages of 4 and 14. Show time is 2 p.m. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. Several rules of the show require that a dog is on a leash and under control at all times. Boys and girls from age 4 through 12 are encouraged to attend the city ' Recreation showing of the show "Pa and Ma Kettle at the Fair" Show time is 11 a.m. on Friday, July 2nd. Cost of admission is 25 cents per person. Parents are invited to attend with smaller children. Candy will be for sale at the door. Those wishing to purchase advance tickets may do so at the swimming pool office. Other shows to be shown this Biunraer will be "Lassies Great Adventure" July 16th and "Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein" on July 30. On alternating Fridays, bus transportation is made available for Roller Skating in Provo. The bus leaves the swimming pool area at 3 p.m. and returns at 6 p.m. Cost for the skating is 50 cents for the bus ride and discount skating at 50 cents. Each contestand and dog must be present and registered by no later than 1:45 p.m. Dogs entered in the smallest dog category must be over 6 months old. There will be seven categories in which a child may enter their dogs. They may enter one or all seven. 1. Best behaved dog. 2. Funniest Dog (without costume). 3. Best Costumed Dog. 4. Best Trick Dog. 5. Smallest Dog. (dog must be over 6 months old. 6. Largest Dog. 7. Best Looking Dog. Winners will be recognized with ribbons, and first place winners will receive a special award. The show will take place at the city park in the center of town. Dr. Murphy from the animal hospital will give a 15 minute clinic on dog care, so all real property described in Proposition 4, said facilities may include, but shall not be limited to, lighted baseball diamonds, tennis courts, an archery range, and leisure park sites; said bonds to bear interest at a rate or rates not to exceed nine (9) percent per annum and due and payable in not to exceed twenty-fiv- e years from the date of said bonds? PROPOSITION 6 Shall the City Council of Pleasant Grove, Utah, be authorized to issue General Obligation Municipal Purpose Bonds of said City in the amount of not to exceed Thirty-Fiv-e Thousand Dollars ($35000) for the purpose of defraying all or a part of the cost of purchasing certain real property and the building thereon, which property is approximately 95 feet by 115 feet and is located directly west of the facility known as the old Pleasant Grove Junior High School gymnasium; said property includes a structure which was formerly used as an LDS Siminary; which real property and existing struc-ture, if acquired, shall be used for general municipal pur-poses; said bonds to bear in-terest at a rate or rates not to exceed nine (9) percent per annum and due and payable in not to exceed twenty-fiv- e (25) years from the date of said bonds? Said election will be held at the following polling places, and the persons indicated as follows will act as election officials : PROPOSITION 3 Shall the City Council of Pleasant Grove, Utah, be authorized to issue General Obligation Municipal Purpose Bonds of said City in the amount of not to exceed One Hundred and Ten Thousand Dollars ($110,000) for the purpose of defraying all or a part of the cost of purchasing approximately 1.13 acres of real property presently owned by the Alpine School District, which real property is com-monly known as the old Pleasant Grove Junior High School; the proposed acquisition to include the school building and a parcel of real property which, when included with the Pleasant Grove City Park, will comprise a parcel bounded by Second South Street on the south, by First East Street on the east, by First South Street on the north, and by Main Street on the west; the real property and building to be acquired shall be used as a civic center or for any other general municipal purpose; said bonds shall bear interest at a rate or rates not to exceed nine (9) percent per annum and shall be due and payable in not to exceed twenty-fiv- e (25) years from the date of said bonds? PROPOSITION 4 Shall the City Council of Pleasant Grove, Utah, be authorized to issue General Obligation Municipal Purpose Bonds of said City in the amount not to exceed One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Dollars r$1Rfl nnnl for the purpose of defraying all or a part of the cost of purchasing a parcel of real property con-sisting of approximately fifteen (15) acres which adjoin the Pleasant Grove High School property on the south and east, to be used for a municipal recreation park; said bonds to bear interest at a rate or rates not to exceed nine (9) percent per annum and due and payable in not to exceed twenty-fiv- e (25) years from the date of said bonds? PROPOSITION 5 In the event the qualified electors of said City approve Proposition 4 above, shall the City Council of Pleasant Grove, Utah, be authorized to issue General Obligation Municipal Purpose Bonds of said City in the amount of not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) for the purpose of defraying all or a part of the cost of constructing recreational facilities on the Voting Districts 2, 9, 11 Polling Place: Pleasant Grove City Hall, Election Of-ficials: Virginia Slater, Joyce Walker, Edna Fraughton, and Rose Pulley as alternate. Voting Districts 3, 5, 6, 7 Polling Place, Pleasant Grove Library. Election Of-ficials: Lorna Hall, Alta Mae Wood, Cora Messersmith, as alternates, Lucille Carter and Uvonna Duvall. Voting Districts 4, 8, 10 Polling Place, Pleasant Grove High School. Election Officials, Carol Loader, Evelyn Schoonover, Carol Harmer, and Lena Wilson, as alternate. The voting at such special bond election shall be by ballot, which ballots will be furnished by the City Recorder of Pleasant Grove to the election officials, who in turn will furnish them to the qualified voters. PROPOSITION 2 Shall the City Council of Pleasant Grove, Utah, be authorized to issue General Obligation Municipal Purpose Bonds in the amount of not to exceed Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000) for the pur-pose of defraying all or a part of the cost of constructing, on a portion of the parcel of real property described in Proposition 1, or other suitable site, a public safety building to be used for general municipal purposes, including but not limited to a police department office, jail, and community center; said bonds to bear interest at a rate or rates not to exceed nine (9) percent per annum and due and payable in not to exceed twenty-fiv- e (25) years from date of said bonds? There will be no special registration of voters for the special bond election, and the official register last made or revised shall constitute the register for such election; except that the County Clerk of Utah County will register as provided by law at his office during regular office hours, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and except during the ten-da- y period immediately preceding the bond election, any person who is or will be eighteen years of age or older by the date of the next general election and who will be a qualified elector by the day of this election. The County Clerk will make available, or will cause the registration agents to make available, at the above-describe- d polling place, a registration list or a copy thereof listing all registered electors entitled to use such voting place.
