State officers Lynn Williams, president, Ray Beckstrand and Diane McNair were in at-tendance. Installation of new officers was conducted by President Lynn Williams, who ad-monished everyone to get in-volved in both the state and local associations. Those elected and installed to offices for the coming year are: President Jan Brady, Pleasant Grove; Erma Sorenson, 1st Vice President, American Fork; Kim Bauer, 2nd Vice President, Provo; Claudia Naranjo, secretary and Helen Walker, treasurer, both from Provo. Larry Pierce, Provo, was installed as styles director and Rosa Lee Murphy, Provo, is historian. Sherma Haag, Orem, is the reporter. Past President Claudia Naranio was presented with a gift of appreciation. A very large crowd gathered to see Larry Pierce introduce the new "Nova" hair cut. He fulfilled an LDS Mission in Japan. He is currently em-ployed in Pleasant Grove. Attending the bride as matron of honor will be her sister, Mrs. John Davis. Bridesmaids will be Mrs. Kenneth Holm, Mrs. Steve Scheiss, Miss Carrie Peay, Mrs. Kraig Higginson, Mrs. DavidMurphy and Amy Faux. Flower girls will be Tracy Kohler and Becky Faux. Bardell Faux, a brother of the groom, will serve as best man with Scott Kohler and Jeff Faux as attendants to the groom. Pre-nupti- parties have been given by Carrie Peay, Sally Johnson, Jeannette Higginson, Mrs. Lillie Kohler, Mrs. Carol Swenson and Mrs. Roselyn Beveridge. ; The couple will make their first home in American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Bud W. Kohler are happy to announce the approaching marriage of their daughter Susan to Craig Faux, son of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Faux of Pleasant Grove. The couple will be married September 10 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Following the ceremony a wedding break-fast will be hosted by the bridegroom's parents at the Hawaian . A reception will honor the couple that same evening in the Manila Ward Cultural Hall. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Susan is a graduate of the Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary, where she served as Viqueen Pep Club president and a senior class cheerleader. She has attended Dixie College in St. George. She is currently employed as a secretary in Orem. Craig is also a graduate of the Pleasant Grove High School and Seminary where he was active in sports. He has Holiday On Ice Starting Today at Salt Palace in SLC A brilliant new show featuring Doug Bjrndt and Patrice Leary with an out-standing cast including "Big Bird" and "Cookie - Monster" and other Muppet Characters from "Sesame Street" in an all new production number will start at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City today and run through Sept. 18. This is a must see show for the entire family, and is a part of the State Fair at the Fairgrounds in Salt Lake City. Patrice Leary, star of Holiday on Ice has been a professional since her debut at age of five years. Doug Berndt, former U.S. Olympics team member, a creative, free-styl- e skater is a talented conterpart for his lovely partner. The Phipsons, a dynamic and famous adagio team of sen-sational skills, Kevin Bubp, the histerically funny rubber-legge- d comedian skater, with the two Scarecrow Clowns are a delight. V " I f ' FRED LEE AND MISS JOY ELLIS Joy Ellis, Fred Lee to Marry Friday, Open House Planned Joy Ellis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Ellis of Pleasant Grove, will become the bride of Fred Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lee, Lindon, Utah. They will be married Friday, September 10th at the Sixth-Tent- h ward church in Pleasant Grove. An Open House will honor them that same evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the same place. Friends and relatives are in-vited to attend. No formal in-- vitiations will be sent. Serving as Maid of Honor ' will be Janet Unthank. Bridesmaids will be Joyce Bastian, Tammy Ellis and Carol Ellis. Becky Ellis will be a Flower Girl. Duties of Best Man will be performed by Eddie Olpin. Ring Bearer will be Todd Sloan. The bride is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and Pleasant Grove LDS Seminary. She served as a Student Body Officer and many other jobs. Mr. Lee graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and is currently employed in Pleasant Grove. Following their honeymoon the couple will make their home in Orem, Utah. Eagles to Have Party Saturday The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pleasant Grove Lodge No. 3372 will hold a special party Saturday, Sept. 11 in the Aerie home. The party will earmark the Aerie's 8th an-niversary. Worthy President James Loock reports all Utah State Officers have been invited. The Anniversary dinner will be served at 7 p.m. by the Auxiliary and Aerie of the Bingham-Midval- e Lodge. The band will start playing for dancing for the evening at 9 p.m. All auxiliary and Aerie members are urged to attend the celebration of our anniver-sary. Single members of the Auxiliary and Aerie may bring a partner to this event. Monthly Family Breakfasts for Eagles to Start The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pleasant Grove Lodge No. 3372 will start thier mon-thly family breakfasts this Sunday, Sept. 12. The break-fast will be served from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. in the Aerie home. The September breakfast will be prepared and served by Aerie members. All members and their families are invited. The proceeds will go towar-ds community involvement. Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. the Pleasant Grove Aerie of-ficers will meet with Provo Aerie officers for Ritual Com-petition in the Pleasant Grove Aerie home. Castle Productions To Close Summer Season "Godspell" Castle Productions will close its first Summer Season with the popular religious musical "Godspell," which is currently running on Broadway. The Castle, located at 1300 east Center in Provo, will house the production. Since the theatre is an outdoor amphitheater it is advisable to take a sweater or blanket. Charles Lynn Frost is producting and directing "Godspell," He is backed by an excellent staff, which includes Kathy Spence, assistant director; Ron Richardson, Kathleen Frost, musical director; Jayne Luke, choreographer; and Patricia Hickman, costumer The cast for "Godspell" is composed of the most ex-perienced and talented actors in the valley, who all prove excellent in song and dance, as well as comedy and drama. "Godspell" is a delightful musical, dealing with the Gospel according to St. Mat-thew, and one to be enjoyed by the entire family. Dates for "Godspell" are September 9, 10, n, 16, 17 and 18 only . Tickets are available at the door, or at both Clarks Downtown and the Union Block. Showtime is at 8:30 p.m. promptly. Proceeds go to the Utah State Hoispital. |
