Show Police Busy with Vnrious Crimes for Post 3 Weeks The police in Pleasant Grove were busy during the 3 week period starting Sept 1 and ending on Oct. 20. 20 accidents were investigated, 8 non-reportable, non-reportable, 3 with injuries and the total estimated damage was $8,800. Arrests 18 adults were arrested during the period, 1 for burglary, 1 for public intoxication, in-toxication, 2 for theft, 1 for driving under the influence and driving on revocation, 3 for possession of marijuana, 1 for assault, 2 for forgery, 1 for possession of marijuana for sale, 2 for traffic warrants, 2 for indecent exposure, 1 for driving under the influence, 1 driving under the influence and driving on suspension. 31 arrested for petty theft plead guilty and was fined $50. 1 arrested for driving under the influence and driving on revocation plead guilty and was fined $299 and 60 days and $199 and the jail sentence was suspended on both charges. He was placed on probation for one year. 1 arrested for possession of controlled substance pleaded guilty and was fined $299 and 60 days in jail. The 60 days in jail were suspended. 1 arrested for illegal possession of marijuana took a change of venue to the Orem City Court. 1 arrested for public intoxication in-toxication plead guilty and was fined $50 and 10 days in jail. $25 and the jail sentence were suspendced. 1 arrested for theft, the case was dismissed. 1 arrested for obscene conduct con-duct plead guilty and was fined $250 and 30 days in jail. $200 and the 30 days were suspended. 1 arrested for burglary plead guilty and was fined $250 and 30 days in jail. $50 and the 30 days were suspended upon payment of the fine. Juvenile Arrests 10 juveniles were referred, 1 for possession of tobacco and truancy, 2 for being ungovernable, 1 for vandalism, 2 for illegal possession of beer, 1 for shoplifting, 1 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of alcohol, 1 for possession of alcohol and runaway, one for indecent exposure. Four were handled through the Youth Bureau for smoking and 17 were handled within the Department. Problems Investigated Theft an air compressor was taken from 647 East 100 North around 10-16-75, valued at $400. Theft nails, plastic tar and an angle iron were taken from 1005 North 500 East on 10-15-75. These were building materials for the new church. .Total estimated value $120. Vandalism a vase was broken that was sitting on the porch at 995 East 900 South on about 10-14-75. Value was about $18. Theft a bicycle was taken from the Valley View School on-10-13-75. It is a ten-speed Free Spirit. Theft 3 twenty dollar bills were taken from 690 West State on 10-7-75 from a purse. Burglary a rifle and a scope were taken from either the pool hall on Main and Center or Cherryhill Drive on about 10-2-75. It was inside of the man's car. 1 arrested for assault plead guilty and was fined $299 and 60 days in jail. All of the sentence was suspended. 1 arrested for possession of a controlled substance plead guilty and was fined $299 and 60 days in jail. $249 and the 60 days in jail were suspended. He was placed on probation for one year. One arrested on a traffic warrant was fined $75. 1 arrested for indecent exposure ex-posure plead guilty and was fined $299 and 60 days in jail. Theft 15 letters and two checks were taken from the Pleasant Grove Junior High School Office on the night of 10-1-75. Theft oxygen gauge and regulator, acetylene gauge and regulator and a cutting head valued at approximately $100 were taken from 1250 East 200 South in the church on approximately ap-proximately 9-29-75. Theft four helmets were taken from the shed located at 140 West Hale on 9-20-75. Burglary the head and foot borards of a brass bed were taken from 151 East Center on about 9-15-75. Approximate value is $300. Vandalism someone beat the lock off the railroad switch on approximately 200 West and 200 South on 9-24-75. Approximate Ap-proximate damage is valued at $15. And Still More Theft a billfold that contained con-tained a $5 bill and other important im-portant papers was taken from the Pleasant Grove High School on 9-8-75. Burglary a color television was taken from 891 East 900 South on 9-11-75. This was valued at $700. Vandalism it appears that a rock was thrown through the front door of Bayly's sometime between 9-13-75 and 9-15-75. Estimated value of damage would be $100. Theft a portable television (color) valued at $300 was taken on 9-7-75 from Trailer City Trailer Court. Theft four tires valued at $350 were taken from 500 North 995 East on or before 8-30-75. Theft eight sprinklers valued at $35 each were taken from the ball park below the highway on 9-6-75. Theft a Royce Union bicycle was taken from the Tim-panogos Tim-panogos Stake House on 9-7-75. Burglary on about 9-3-75 twenty leather skirts and twelve ladies blouses were taken from 69 South 300 East. Total estimated value is $400. |
