Show Bruce S. Fugal Is Selected For Highway Patrol Bruce S. Fugal, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fugal, Pleasant Grove, has been named one out of 20 successful new members of the Utah Highway Patrol, it was learned here Thursday, and announced an-nounced by Joseph W. Dudler, patrol superintendent. The 20 successful candidates were chosen from a list of 60 who underwent examinations given recently re-cently by the patrol civil service commission. Patrol Candidate Fugal will leave Sunday for Salt Lake City to attend a three-week training course at the University of Utah, and will be quartered at the barracks on the upper campus. After completing the training school the young patrolman will draw his first assignment in Beaver Beav-er county, Superintendent Dudler said. A native of Pleasant Grove, Mr. Fugal atended the schools here, graduating from the Pleasant Grove High School in 1946. For a year after his graduation he was employed by Neils Fugal and Sons. In September, 1948, Mr. Fugal accepted a call to fill a mission in the Northwestern States for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. Upon his return in December, 1950, he was employed by the Rasmussen Plumbing and Heating Company until in May, when he opened his own garage. On January 3, 1951, he married Alene Rasmussen, Pleasant Grove, in the Salt Lake Temple. Since returning re-turning from his mission he has been active in several church organizations. |
