CERTIFICATES Velma Gillman and Ver-land Ver-land Saling congratulate Duane Berry and Korin Norton on receiving certificates for "Woodsy Owl" posters in state contest . Students Can Enter Poster Contest In the contest sponsored lo-Garden lo-Garden Club the posters of Korin Norton and Duane Berry Ber-ry won last spring, and were in the finals of the Utah State contest. Korin took second place and Duane fourth place in the state contest. The contest is on again this year, and will be sponsored in every high school, junior high and grade school. Deadline for coloring posters is Feb. 11. Best posters will be sent to the state contest, and if they win there they will go back to Washington, D.C. to be judged in the national finals. Pleasant Grove Garden Club are sponsors for the local contest, con-test, and for any other additional addi-tional information, call Verland Saling, garden club president,, or Mrs. Velma Gillman, who is contest chairman. Woodsy Owl is the new emblem em-blem used by the Forest Service Ser-vice to help people understand the cleanup and litter problem in our nation. The golden-mantled ground squirrel spends most of its life sleeping underground. Even after seven months of hibernation, hiber-nation, it seldom rises for breakfast until well after sunrise. |
