Show First Ward Reunion Iteld Wednesday Directed by the bishopric the First ward held a reunion on Wednesday Wed-nesday evening especially honoring the Eastern section that has been called into the new ward. Vern Cullimore, Superintendent of Sunday School, was master of ceremonies. Harold Bullock, of the bishopric and J. L. Adams, ward clerk, both of whom are now members mem-bers of the new ward, were presented pres-ented with gifts of appreciation, "Nauvou, the Beautiful". The presentation pres-entation was made by Bishop Louis Olpin. Mrs. Nina Hunter offered a toast to the new ward and Mrs. Ruby Warnick toasted members of the First Ward. Owen Whitehead gave vocal numbers with guitar accompaniment. accompani-ment. Irwin Jensen and Rulon Brimhall gave a Hill Billy skit and Jack Westover accompanied by Robert West played a trombone solo. Ertman Christensen read a letter from Louise Armitstead, who is on a mission in Louisiana and now becomes be-comes a representative of the new ward. Closing remarks were made by President Merrill N. Warnick, after which dancing was enjoyed and a plate lunch was served at 10:30. |
