Show Garden Club Hears About Pruning Roses on Monday An evening of instruction on pruning roses and other plants was enjoyed by the Pleasant Grove Garden Club last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Priscilla Minson. Howard Engh was the speaker, spea-ker, and gave everyone some good advice on cultivating roses to keep the rose bore out. He also gave suggestions on how to plant a rose for best effect and growth. Those in attendance were: Coleen McCormick Carol Jor-ester, Jor-ester, Eva Reynolds, Judy Jones, Evelyn Schoonover, Mary Shoell, Mary McCormick, Claudia Brown, Alice Simper, Edna Atkinson, Maxine Smith, Verland Saling, Virginia Bon-ham, Bon-ham, Priscilla Minson, Velma Gillman, Lucile Hillman, Olga Carling, Lillian Huish, Alice Adamson. President Velma Gilman an-nonced an-nonced that the club had received rece-ived awards from the State Flower Show at the Salt Palace. Pal-ace. The awards were: Display Ribbon 2nd Place; the theme of the display was Front Page, The club also received an award of apprciation and Mary McCormick received 1st place for her Pineapple Plant. Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Garden Club was hostess at the fair. |
