Show Full Information Needed for Trouble Calls Police Chief Mike Ferre asked ask-ed this week for better cooperation coop-eration when calling in for help or information, in order that the local police department might do a more efficient job in responding to complaints and emergency situations. Of importance in reporting an emergency, is that citizens leave their name, address, telephone tele-phone number and the nature of the call. In the past there has been delays in emergencies because of lack of information. Failure to give their name, because the officer on duty might not know the caller. Failure to give the telephone number, so that a call-back can be made to verify ver-ify the address. Failure to leave the address. You might think the officer knows your address but he doesn't always know this. Failure to let the dispatcher dispatch-er know the problem. This can make a difference in the way the call is answered either run-tinely run-tinely or with red lights and siren. |
