Show Old Folks of Pleasant Grove Enjoy Annual Dinner and Fine Program 4 The elderly people of Pleasant Grove were royally entertained on Friday, February 19 at the beautiful beauti-ful new First ward chapel. Guests assembled at eleven o'clock and were greeted by members of the committee and ward Bishops. After a general handshake and greeting of friends, a short program pro-gram was carried out preceding the dinner hour. Stake Chairman Thomas Fenton, led the audience singing "Come, Come Ye Saints," Miss Carol Smith was at the piano. Bishop J. S. Walker offered the invocation and the welcome address was given by Bishop Junius A. West Readings were -given by Mrs. Orpha Meeham who read "Missinjr The Train" and Mrs. Mary Abel read "Mrs. Monday Morning." A piano solo by Miss Carol Smith was followed by the dinner call. The long tables wer artistically decorated with the national colors, and more than 140 guests enjoyed the delicious dinner. Special music during the dinner was a vocal solo by Mrs. May R. Walker and organ music by Irwin Jensen. At 2 o'clock the guests reassembled reassem-bled in the chapel for the afternoon after-noon program which included a Violin duet "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes," by Miss Marilyn Richards and Miss Dawn Marie Adams, accompanied by Miss Ly-ravine Ly-ravine Jensen. A vocal solo "Veneiese Refrain" by Mrs. Margaret Devereax, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Viola Beers; An Accordion solo by Miss Louise Brimhall; a vocal solo "A Perfect Day" by Mrs. Marie Brown, accompanied ac-companied by Mts. Mary Neves. A humorous reading by Miss Carol Christiansen, and two vocal duets, "There's A Star Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere" and "Pass The Bisquits" by Dorothy and Joye Phillips, and a reading, "As Mother Used To Do,' by Mary Abel. Closing talk of love and appreciation ap-preciation for the old people was given, by President W. W. Warnick, and the conclusion, the guests were taken to the Grove Theatre where they enjoyed the picture show. Boxes of candy were presented to John C. Christensen, the oldest man present and Mrs. Anna Hall, the oldest lady; Mr. and Mrs. Carles Car-les . Beulher, the longest marri.ed : couple.
