Show Mothers Study Club Holds Anniversary Party Last Monday Mrs. Ellna Clark, president of the Mothers Study Club, and Mrs. Arvilla Harvey, vice president, pres-ident, were co-hostesses Monday Mon-day afternoon at a very beautiful beau-tiful and most enjoyable birthday birth-day party held at Pleasant Grove's newest entertainment center, The Bungalow, owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Roland Robinson. Its many large windows draped with frilly white curtains, cur-tains, the blue and white checkered chec-kered table cloths, the high beamed ceilings, and old fashioned fash-ioned decor, provided a very authentic setting for the gala affair. The large "U" shaped table was centered with an arrangement ar-rangement of spring flowers and the long table with a potted pot-ted blue forsythia. Mrs. Deane Paulson offered grace on the food. Only one of the charter members mem-bers of the club, formed 57 years ago, Mrs. Emma Over-lade, Over-lade, still resides in Pleasant Grove, and was she was unable to attend. A beautiful corsage was pinned on Mrs. Lela Banks who was the first member to join the club after the charter group. A very enjoyable program, combining contemporary and classical music, was presented by Mrs. Elaine Clark, a professional profes-sional vocalist, who is widely known for her work in opera and music circles in and around Provo, and her three daughters Christy, vocalist, Kelly, violin and Katie, flute. They were accompanied ac-companied by Francine Ben-nion. Ben-nion. All are from Provo. Mrs. Ilene Beck read a timely time-ly philosophy of life, "Desiderata," "Desid-erata," which was found in an Old Saint Paul's Church in Baltimore, Bal-timore, and was dated 1692. Club members present besides be-sides the hostesses, Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Banks and Mrs. Paulson Paul-son were May Jensen, Estelle Fenton, Eva Adams Dalebout, Madge Christensen, Edna Newman, New-man, Nora Macfarlane, Geneve Warnick and Lucille Walker. Invited guests were Mrs. Nedra Sumner, Provo, and the following, all from Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove: Ruth Shoell, Annie Carol Jaynes, Lucille Hillman, Norma Gardner, Jessie Tucker, Bettie, Helen, Dixie and Barbara Bar-bara Harvey, Gladys Cooper, Ila Lundberg, Bea Adams, Betty Bet-ty Adams, Donna Brock, Louise Lou-ise Johnson, Katherine Kirk Woolf, Zoe James, Ruth Gordon, Gor-don, Reva Ahman, Lorna Walker Walk-er and Marjorie Holdaway. |
