Elysium Club Meets Recently at Irene McCuistions Members of the Elysium Club spent a very delightful evening recently at the home of Irene McCuistion. Guest speaker for the even-ing was Mrs. Ella Jackson, who showed slides and told of her visit the past summer to South Viet Nam and other points of interest. Orem Sets Varied Events for Nov. 23 Second Annual Winferfesf Program and Miss Orem, (Janet Chris-topher), will be as follows: To be eligible for the draw-ings, residents must clip and fill out one of the coupons that ' will be published in Utah Coun-ty newspapers and placed in Orem stores in about two weeks. Boxes for deposit of the coupons will be placed in Orem stores. These coupons will be picked up the day before Thanksgiving. The WINTERFEST program will be cliqmaxed at 6 p.m. by the turning on the new Chist-ma- s lighting and live Nativity scene at the Orem City Center. The Orem High School A Cap-ell- a Choir wil sing before and after the lighting ceremony. OREM A feast of varied activities for Orem's second annual WINTERFEST on Nov 23 was announced this week, covering events running from the morning throughout the day and into the early evening. Activities wil range from the opening breakfast, the arrival of Santa Cluas, a parade, an outdoor recreation show at two locations, drawings for hund-reds of valuable prizes, and the appearance of Stanta Claus along with Miss Orem, at var-ious times and events. The day-lon- g WINTERFEST will be climaxed with the turn-ing on of new Christmas light-ing and live Nativity scene at the Orem City Center in the evening. Events begin at 9:30 a.m. with a breakfast for invited dignitaries, including Governor Calvin L. Rampton, in the multi-purpos- e room of the Orem City Center. Following the breakfast and short pro-gram, cars and" drivers will be waiting to take the visitors to the parade line-u- p at 4th North and State Street. The parade will start at 11 a.m. at 4th North and rt Store, pro-ceeding on a route south on State Street to the University parking lot. Before the parade, Santa Claus will arrive at 9:45 at the University Mall with candy for the children. He will then make appearances with Miss Orem throughout the day at various events. All day long, there will be outdoor recreation shows at the Mountain Shadows shop-ping area at East Center and State Street, and at the Albert-son's shopping area at West Center and State Street. These shows will feature all types of recreation vehicles and equipment, including campers, bots, trailers, cycles and snow-mobiles. These shows will be open all day long. Drawings for hundreds of valuable prizes that have been donated by Orem merchants will be held during the day.
