Show Arlyn J. Deveraux Named to Highest Enlisted Grade. E-9 by U.S. Air Force Arlyn J. Deveraux, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Deveraux, 309 North 300 East, Pleasant Grove, received notification early this month of his selection to the highest Air Force enlisted enlist-ed grade, Chief Master Sergeant Ser-geant (E-9). As an added award Sgt. Deveraux has been designated desig-nated to receive sustained superior sup-erior performance pay effective effec-tive Jan. 1, 1972. This achievement achieve-ment places him in the top 1 percent of all Air Force personnel. per-sonnel. Arlyn graduated from Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove High School where he was selected outstanding male student of the class of 1953 by the Pleasant Grove Jay- cees. He has since served 18 years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force. He holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering completed while in service. His military awards include the Silver Star for heroism and gallantry in action, the Bronze Star for valor, the Air Force Commendation with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Purple Heart, Senior Sen-ior Parachute Badge, Crew member wings and 13 other decorations for outstanding a-chievement a-chievement and meritorious service. Upon his return from Vietnam Viet-nam in November Sgt. Deveraux Dever-aux was assigned to Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. His current duty places him in charge of all airborne electronics electron-ics equipment installed in the FIIIF fighter bomber aircraft assigned to that base. |
