Les Potpourri Club Holds Xmas Party On December 7 The Les Potpourri Cluj? of Pleasant Grove held their an-nual Christmas party on Thurs-day, Dec. 7 at the Orem Re-ception Center, where a lovely Christmas dinner was served to the 16 members. A delightful musical number was presented by Darrell Frampton and his two children followed by a Christmas story given by Becky Smith. At the conclusion of the ev-ening, gifts were exchanged. Natural gas is natural energy. jtl MOUNTAIN FUEL Funeral Rites Held Last Saturday for Ray S .Westerlund AMERICAN FORK Ray-mond S. Westerlund, 70, of 555 North 200 West, died Wednes-day, Dec. 20, at the American Fork Hospital of a heart at-tack. Born Dec. 28, 1901 in Chi-cago, to Fred and Annette Lar-son Westerlund, he married Helen E. Anderson on Sept. 9, 1944 in Ontario, Calif., at the First Baptist Church. He was a retired General Foreman of United States Steel at Geneva Works. He received his early education in Chicago and graduated from Englewood High School. He attended Wil-son Junior College and the Un-iversity of Chicago. He was employed from 1918 to 1943 at South Works Steel Plant at Carnegie, 111., as an industrial engineer. From 1943 to 1946 he was foreman of the Roll Shop at Kaiser Steel, Fontana, Calif. After his marriage he made his first home in Ontario. In 1946 he moved to Provo where he was employed as General Foreman of the Roll Shop at Geneva Works. In 1948 he moved to American Fork and then to Pleasant Grove in 1959 After retiring from Geneva he moved back to American Fork. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Or-em, where he served in various capacities. He belonged to the Triluminar Lodge No. 767 F and AM, Chicago. His hobbies were reading, history and mu-sic. Survivors include his wife, Helen, one son, Capt. John S. Westerlund, stationed in Neu Ulm, Germany with the U.S. Army, and one daughter, Jan-et H. Westerlund, attending Chapel Bible College, Seattle, Washington, seven nephews, three nieces and one sister, Ester Westerlund, Chicago. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Free Church Saturday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. Officiating were Rev. Gordon Elenbaas and Rev. The members enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner and exchanged gifts. Members present were Bar-bara Lewis, Leone Ruthledge, Betty Whiteley, Jane Smith, Lillian Wadley, Carol Adam-son, Loretta Carter, Karen Albrecht and hostess Gayle Holdaway. |
