Show Cadmus Club Has First Meeting of 1971-72 Club Year Cadmus Club's first meeting of the year 1971-72 was held at the home of Effie Adams. Co-hostesses were Lurena War-nick War-nick and Lucille Jense. President Lucy Haycock presided pre-sided and welcomed members and guests She offered some lovely thoughts on friendship. She reminded the members that this is the 26th anniversary of Cadmus. A short business meeting followed. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Warnick. Margaret Hayes, educational education-al chairman, represented the other members of the Educational Educa-tional Committee, Afton Atkinson Atkin-son and Effie Adams, and presented pre-sented the theme for the year: "We live in the Present. "We dream of the Future. "But we learn Eternal Truths from the Past!" Madame Chiang-Kai-Shek "I am not afraid of Tomorrow Tomor-row for I have seen Yesterday and I love Today!" William Allen White. Miss Hayes gave a brief resume re-sume of the programs for the year. She then introduced her niece, Barbara West Carlson, who in turn presented Mrs. Pat Metten and Mrs. Berna Allred, guest artists. Mrs. Metten captured the hearts of everyone with her clever and talented presentations presenta-tions of Prose, Poetry and Bits and Pieces of Americana . . . Past, Present and Future. Mrs. Allred charmingly entertained en-tertained the group with a full repertoire of delightful songs of the past, present and future, playing her own accompaniment accompani-ment on the harpsichord. Delicious refreshments were served to 24 members and three guests. |
