Show Lindon City Council Meets in Regular Session on December 9 The Lindon City Council held a meeting last Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the City Office Building Buil-ding in Lindon. The following items of business were idscuss-ed idscuss-ed by council members and Mayor Stanley Walker. Police Chief Ken Harris reported re-ported that fourteen arrests had been made and 15 warning tickets given. $281 had been collected in fines and forfeitures. forfeit-ures. He also reported on a meeting sponsored by State Senator Ernest Dean, which deal with the subject "Hard Core Delinquents." Councilman Paul Fage reported repor-ted having contacted Charles Rodeback about painting the eves around the city office building, buil-ding, which he will take care of as soon as weather permits. A coathanger for the council room and chairs for the basement base-ment are to be ordered from the Salt Lake Desk Co., it was reported. Councilman Wendyl Jarvis informed the council that the State has granted Lindon City an extension of two years in which to submit proof of appropriation ap-propriation on its well for the water rights. Mr. Jarvis said he had investigated the water billing bill-ing procedures and rates in the various neighboring cities and has found great variance. However How-ever more time will be needed to study this matter. Walter Parker, superintendent superintend-ent of Garbage Removal, reported re-ported having attended the meeting sponsored by the county on garbage removal. He stated there will be a survey made to determine a more economical means of operating operat-ing the dump. Ray Walker of the Utah Power Pow-er and Light Co. stated the No. 3 weU at 755 North and 200 East has been tested and his purpose at the meeting was to acquire a signed contract approval ap-proval for' the pump. Motion passed by unanimous vote. Mr. Walker also presented a new 50 year franchise as a utility util-ity in Lindon City. This motion was also passed by the council. Councilman Jarvis stated the Mountain Bell has brought their bid down to $300 on the telephone tele-phone control system with a $3400 cost for installation. City Councli members felt it would be feasible to proceed on this matter at this time. The council stated that the Pleasant Grove Irrigation Co. should be billed for their 200 shares of water rented from Lindon City. |
