Show City Council Met on Last Monday Night With all present except Councilman Coun-cilman Jesse K. Thorne, Mayor May-or Jay F. Harmer presided at the regular Pleasant Grove City Council meeting held last Monday Mon-day night at city hall. The council discussed and passed a resolution relative to having a satisfactory inspection of all business institutions before be-fore future licenses will be issued. is-sued. Said inspections will be made by the city police and fire departments, the city building inspector and the Utah County Health Department. It was also recommended that the above resolution be included in-cluded in the new business license li-cense ordinance. The council approved the employment em-ployment of Dean Powell to paint the City Library building. Councilman Paul Blackhurst reported that certain property owners along the north side of Nathaniel Drive requested the installation of curb and gutter. He stated that the considerable amount of water flowing down the street would necessitate the installation of a special type of gutter. Councilman Blackhurst was authorized- to make further study and investigations as to costs and property owners support. sup-port. Glade Shelley and Glen Sag-ers, Sag-ers, from the Utah County Health Dept., discussed possible ways of forcing citizens to clean up their unsanitary property. Mr. Sagers suggested that the city institute a test arrest and court arraignment in the situation. situ-ation. The council authorized the City Recorder to go ahead with the selection of the 21 judges of election needed for the Nov. 4 Municipal Election. Special Hearing Following the regular session a special hearing was held relative rela-tive to the issuing of a new business license to a local motel Wallace Jacobsen and Charles Moore, motel managers, were present and reported on plans for improving and renovating their facility. After considerable discussion the original type license was issued, revocable in case the promised improvements were not made in a reasonable time. |
