Show P.G. City Court Activity Shows Increase Over a Year Ago Activity in Pleasant Grove City Court took a surge upward during August, 1968 as compared compar-ed to the two previous summer months. According to the report of Judge Keith Anderson, 34 cases were handled and a total of $407 was collected in fines and forfeitures. Traffic violations were unusually un-usually high due largely to the increase in speeding and drunken drun-ken driving. In all, 29 traffic cases were handled, with the breakdown as follows: Speeding 9, driving under the influence of alcohol 4, no safety inspection 4, no drivers license on person 4, running stop sign 3, failure to yield right of way 2, no drivers license 1, improper improp-er left turn 1, improper parking park-ing 1 and total traffic, 29. Non-traffic cases handled included in-cluded petty larceny 1, throw- ing firecrackers at cars 1, and small claims 3. Total non-traffic, 5. Of all the 34 cases heard, 5 were dismissed, there was one change of venue and one convicted con-victed person was committed to the Utah County Jail. Members of the police department de-partment were also busy during dur-ing August, as the following gleanings from their investigations investi-gations reveal. Complaint that neighbor's radio ra-dio music is too loud; asked to lower it. Two speed warnings warn-ings given. Breakin at pontoon boat office, culprit escaped thru fields. Advised minor to leave tavern, tav-ern, he did. More kids enjoying enjoy-ing free swim at pool. Man reported his mother had stolen his bird, also some liquor. P.G. boy reported wandering about at 3 a.m. Warned a driver for transporting trans-porting two girls sitting on the back of car. Man using stolen car plate to cash Walker Bank-ard. Bank-ard. Shuttled a woman to Or-em, Or-em, husband had beaten her. Girl reported estranged boy friend had hung dead turkeys on her clothes line. Boys lighting firecrackers in cemetery, no residents complained. com-plained. Advised a man to see a lawyer about his troublesome wife. Another breakin at high school. Neighbors fighting in southeast section. Two runaway runa-way boys found at local cafe. False fire call at 12:30 a.m. |
