incoming governor and legislature to wisely economically and energetically continue the good work to the end that ultimately every county and hamlet in our state 1 shallie sh shall allbe toe connected compensation we favor the enacting of a comprehensive workmans work mans compensation law providing a liberal schedule ol of payment tor for death and injury resulting from accident to employees of all kinds whether state municipal or of private we favor the prompt submission by congress and ratification by the necessary number of states of the pro posed constitutional amendment introduced by senator sutherland con ferring the elective franchise on women and in that connection we especially bially congratulate the republican nominee for president governor charles E hughes on his emphatic and unequivocal approval of this proposed amendment we pledge the republican party to provide proper recognition of women by appointment on all state bbate boards and commissions not incompatible with work public utilities wie we favor the creation of a public utilities commission and we pledge our party to put on the statute books of this state at the next session ot of the legislation adequate laws tor for the carrying out of the provisions of see section 15 of article articie 18 of the constitution relative to the establishment of reasonable maximum rates of charge for the transportation of passengers and freight for correcting abuses and preventing discrimination and extortion in rates by all common carriers the constitution and statutes of our state provide adequate mileage for traveling expenses of public officers of our state and in line with legislation by a republic republican can congress and believing that wholesome 1 e to la hampered and endangered by the system in vogue of giving passes to public officials we pledge our legislature and governor to pass an adequate an ti pass measure for the correction ol of this evil we pledge the republican party to the enactment of such legislation as may be necessary to secure to the workers the legal right of voluntary association tor for mutual protection and welfare protecting their rights against unwarrantable issuance of writs of injunction labor legislation we favor the enactment ot of legislation calculated to secure the safety conservation and protection of labor from the dangers incident to industry
