Show APPEAL FOR cooperation TO PROTECT SCHOOL CHILDREN ISSUED BY AAA CLUB an appeal to both motorists and parents to cooperate la in protecting school children on their way to and rom school was issued today by the utah motorist association teachers police and the school safety patrols are working to protect the children against the dangers of traffic the club statement said but to be tully fully effective their efforts must be backed up by cooperative action on the part or of parents and motorists upon parents rests the solemn responsibility to warn their children repeatedly about carelessness in crossing the streets and to impress upon them the need for caution at all times upon motorists rests the equally grave responsibility to drive with the utmost care in the ho neighborhood of the schools and along all streets where large numbers of children are on their way to or from the classrooms particular need tor for extra effort this year is caused by the increased number of children who will be going to school and the greater number of 0 cars on the streets as a result the likelihood of accident Is materially increased with the aid of the school safety patrols and daily safety lessons in the classroom the fatality record of school age children has shown steady improvement over a period of years with full cooperation by teach ars police the safety latroa pa troa not wiest parents and the school children themselves this improvement can be continued let it be our objective to make this the safest school year on record |
