Show SUMMIT RAISES MORE FUNDS FOR NEW CHAPEL through the efforts of the bishopric relief society and other residents of the summit ward and the good will of people in surrounding communities another five hundred colars was added to the summit ward building fund last week this money will be held along with other fu funds ads procured earlier until the war is is over or until materials and labor are more easily obtainable it will then be matched by church funds for the construction of a new ward chapel there the money last week was raised by the relief society preparing and serving an elk supper with the meat being furnished by bishop farrow the result of an elk hunt in wyoming and with other necessary items furnished by ward members tickets for the supper were sold in par owan and cedar city as well as summit and the smaller towns of the stake with many people going there to enjoy the supper which was held on thursday evening nov 18 the summit ward held an auction sale during the summer which netted approximately 1000 which became the nucleus of a building fund to replace the present ward chapel which is out of date and in a bad state of repair other things are being contemplated for the future to continue the campaign to raise funds so that when the war is over the ward will be able to proceed with its cona construction ruction program |
