Show EFFORTS MADE TO GET 62 C C C CAMPS TO WORK ON SMALL RESERVOIR PROGRAM efforts of the national reclamation association to secure 62 camps for work on the tha bests small reservoir program were made known thursday in a letter to stati stat engineer T H humpherys from F 0 hagie secretary manager of the association it is proposed that six of the 62 12 camps should be delegated to utah for her part of the program if they are made available the letter stated two possible methods for securing the camps were outlined to in elude clude 1 a redistribution of camps from the department of agriculture to the interior department and 2 setting up 62 new camps to carry on the work the latter suggestion if followed would bring the total number of camps for the nation to 1562 at present 1015 camps are administered by the agriculture department and by the interior department all camps were under the agriculture department prior to 1933 1938 the 62 camps would be used by the bureau for the work together with 44 camps which are now work ing on old projects it was disclosed the reservoir program for which a joint senate and house committee commit tae le ie commended a appropriation be made this year will be carried out under the case wheeler act this act provides the appropriation be supplemented by or labor which will be under prider su supervision per vision of the reclamation buteau bureau of the department of the interior repayment contracts will be made over a 40 year period with no interest r required L quire d this plan is considered advantageous over the regular plan since it provides aia and work of which no repay merit will be made and lends itself to much needed projects which cost of construction would otherwise make prohibitive |
