Show COUNTY FARMERS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF RANGE conservation PROGRAM farmers and stockmen stoc kmen of iron county are taking advantage of the opportunity afforded them under I 1 the range conservation program to build their ranches and range lana iana says J M palmer chairman of the county AAA committee he reports that 62 applications for payments earned under the 1939 program have been approved these payments amount to for 1938 there were 25 applications approved for payment in the amount of this is an increase of 37 applications and for 1939 over 1938 these payments have been earned through such range building practices as natural re seeding by deferred grazing artificially reseed ing range land with adapted species of grass erosion and runoff run off control including spreader dams developing springs drilling or digging wells building reservoirs and other practices march has been set as th the e deadline for signing original applications for payment under the 1939 range conservation program mr palmer said all farmers and ranch ers of iron county who have earned payments for performance under the 1939 program and who have not already made application for payments should do so on or before that date |
