| Show cattle associations advisory board M meets beets the annu annual a I 1 meeting of the dixie forest cattle associations A advisory board committee was held in cedar city last saturday for the purpose of electing officers for the tha coming year and of considering range management problems the committee is as composed of representatives ot of each of thee attla and horse growers associations using the dixie forest each of which was represented at the meeting T willard jones of newcastle president of the advisory board presided and was reelected elected re to head the organization guy hafen was rejected as secretary I 1 mr C E favre of ogden assistant regional forester in charge of grazing talked on general forest service problems stating that the service has done all in its power to stabilize the cattle industry ana the next step must be toward sta stab 1 b klizing the carrying capacity of the tha ranges C L montgomery president of the state cattle and horse growers association was also present and discussed effects of the reciprocal trade treaties on the industry an aal I 1 urged growers to do all possible to improve the quality of their herds the regulations imposed by tha new state brand and veterinary laws were discussed by joseph H francis of morgan state brand inspector who said that hereafter no animals will be allowed on the public ranges without a re nc fd ard d brand supervisor betenson outlined the progress made on the forest in the last eighteen months stating of major importance was the seg legation of sheep and cattle districts eliminating common use of same and the construction of miles aniles of division fences improvement of watering places re t of substantial areas etc |
