Show Small business eligible ; for job-training funds : j Small businesses now are ' eligible for funds to train employees for new employment positions, said R Kent Moon, director of the Salt Lake office of the Small Business Administration Administra-tion (SBA). "The SBA is joining hands with the state of Utah in providing training opportunities for small businesses that are planning to increase the number of employees employ-ees at their business, thereby creating new jobs," said Moon. Moon said the customized , training program is being offered by the Division of Vocational Education of the Utah State Office of Education. "This training program has been in existence for quite some time," Moon said. "But it has been used mainly by large businesses in the area. We now are ready to invite small businesses to participate in the program." Funds are available for customized cus-tomized training for small businesses busi-nesses meeting the follow requirements: re-quirements: If a potential employee em-ployee for a newly created job needs classroom training, a custom-fit training program will be created for a minimum of 40 classroom hours. All costs will be paid by the Utah State Office for Vocational Education to the institution providing the education. educa-tion. On-the-job training also can be funded through this program. Under the program, funds can be provided for a minimum of 200 hours. A portion of the hourly wages can be paid from local job training partnership funds or similar funds from the State Office of Vocational Education.
