Show Mght Music A little live music The warning signs are clear cool nights and a hint of change in the wind. Summer is drawing to a close, but there is still just enough time to dance up on the roof or in the tent at The Resort Center before it's over. Here are some suggestions of places where you can catch a little live music to celebrate the summer of '85. Baja Cantina Local musicians set aside Thursday Thurs-day nights to jam together at the Baja Cantina at the Park City Resort Plaza. New blood is always welcome. You're invited to bring an instrument instru-ment and join in beginning at 9 p.m. Chamber Music Festival The Deer Valley Chamber Music Festival continues this week with a concert on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Snow Park Lodge. A second concert will take place Friday at 8 p.m. at the Kimball Art Center. Featured musicians will be pianist Michael Gurt, violinists Paul Rosenthal, and Joseph Genualdi and Bill Preucil, concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony. Sym-phony. Grub Steak Folk musician Kat James plays to a predominantly Park City crowd at the Down Under Club at the Claimjumper Hotel Wednesday through Saturday evenings. Down Under Contemporary guitarist Chuck Tharpe will serenade diners at the Grub Steak Restaurant in Prospector Square Friday and Saturday from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Legacy Social Club The rock and rollers who call their band Jubal will be at the Legacy Social Club (formerly the Cowboy Bar) Friday and Saturday. The first set starts at 9 p.m. Resort Center The Kathy Peterson classical duo will perform at the tent at The Resort Center Sunday at 7 and 8:30 p.m. The Merrill Smith jazz trio will take over on Wednesday with concerts at 7 and 8:30 p.m. |
