Beyond assorted thefts, burglaries, vandalism and drunken driving, someone topped the Christmas season by smashing the giant ice cream cone in front of Pistachio's. Gary Cole of Pistachio's reported this week that someone, somehow had pushed over the giant ice cream cone that stands in front of the store. The report states the the cone has a one-and-a-half -inch pipe running run-ning down the center of it. The scoop of ice cream that tops the cone was reportedly crushed. The value of the cone is set at $900. " ' John Peck of Midway reported to police on Dec. 21 that his skis were stolen from outside the Summit House at the ski area when he went inside to eat. The skis are described as Rossig-nol Rossig-nol SMs, 203 centimeters in length with Salomon 747 bindings. On Dec. 19, Daniel Jusid-man Jusid-man reported to the police that five pair of skis and poles were stolen from his Racquet Club Condominium storage closet some time between April and his return to Park City on Dec. 18. ! Dobson apprehended two shoplifters this week, according to the police blotter. On Dec. 12 Dobson reported to the police that a 19-year-old Santa Monica, California man left the store with a bottle of Revlon "Touch and Glow" without paying for it. The suspect was taken into custody by police and released on $106 bail. On Dec. 20 Dobson turned over to police a 32-year-old -Sandy, Utah man for allegedly alleg-edly stealing a $2.29 package of Duracell batteries. The suspect was cited and released re-leased for arraignment on Dec. 28. Robert N. Burnette reported report-ed that sometime during the night or morning of Dec. 20 the driver's side window of his pick-up truck was smashed. The following items are listed as missing: a brown wallet containing a Virginia driver's license, a Sears charge card and miscellaneous papers. Damage Dam-age to the truck is listed at $100. Melany McAdams reported report-ed a burglary from Park Avenue Clothing and Collectibles Collect-ibles to the Park City Police Department on Dec. 18. According Ac-cording to the report, McAdams Mc-Adams found the restroom door open that joins Park Avenue Clothing and Collectibles Collect-ibles with the Village Idiot. Listed as missing are: one green woman's sweater valued val-ued at $28, one blue woman's dress valued at $44, one grey woman's blazer valued at '$110, and $40 in cash. Steve A. Houd reported that on Dec. 16 he parked his car in the Claimjumper parking lot. When he returned return-ed to his car the driver's side window was broken out. Houd reported that nothing was stolen. Damage to the automobile is listed at $100. On Dec. 17, Park City police arrested a 26-year-old Peoa man for DUI after an off-duty officer reported what appeared to be a drunk driver on Kearns Boulevard. The report states that upon being pulled over, the suspect sus-pect told police in a somewhat some-what slurred fashion that he had consumed 15 beers. After failing field sobriety tests he was booked into the county jail. A 51-year-old Green River, Wyoming man was arrested for DUI on Dec. 17 when police witnessed his car weaving down Park Avenue. The suspect failed intoxilizer tests and was booked into the county jail and bail was set at $306. Jim Gaddis of Gaddis Investment reported to the police on Dec. 15 that someone had forced his way into one of the model condominium units located at 1513 Lakeside Drive. Gaddis told police a 19-inch RCA color television valued at $500 was stolen. An "assault on a police officer" graces the blotter on Dec. 13. According to the report, officers Lou Berry and Kurt Lovejoy responded to an ambulance call to a Park City bus where apparently appar-ently a person was not breathing. However, when the officers arrived at the scene they were confronted with a violent 16-year-old male. After transporting the victim to the Park City Clinic, officers were informed inform-ed by Dr. Winn that the youth was intoxicated. The report further states that the youth was also violent with emergency medical technicians techni-cians (EMTs) as well as doctors. The youth was remanded to the Salt Lake County Youth Detention Center. Linda Robson reported to I the Park City Police Depart- I ment that a man kept Ej coming into the 7-Eleven store on Park Avenue and eating hot dogs without paying. Upon arrival at the 7-Eleven on Dec. 12, police found the suspect, a 30-year-old Park City man, inside the store. According to Robson he had just eaten another hot dog. The suspect admitted to police that he was intoxicat- I ed. He was booked into the 1 county jail for retail theft I and public intoxication. H And on Dec. 13, Mark 1 Stedman of Sneakers report- I ed to the police that on the ! night of Dec. 4 an envelope i containing approximately j $800 in checks, charges and i cash was removed from a H locked drawer behind the H bar at Sneakers. H Fifth Circuit Court 1 On Dec. 14, Steve Dale Larson of Heber was found guilty of DUI. Larson was sentenced to six months in jail and fined $299. The jail sentence will be suspended upon payment of the fine. Additionally he was fined $150 in alcohol treatment fees and $100 for the state victim restitution fund. Ernest G. Urban of Park City was found guilty of DUI on Dec. 14 and sentenced to six months in jail which is to be suspended upon payment of a $299 fine. Stephanie Spencer of Midway Mid-way plead guilty to the reduced sentence of alcohol related reckless driving in Fifth District Court on Dec. 16. She had originally been charged with DUI.
